Kandi Burruss Confirms Season 13 Of RHOA Has Begun Filming And Shares The Safety Rules The Cast And Crew Are Following Due To The COVID-19 Pandemic; Says “We’re Getting Tested All The Time”

Kandi Burrus has confirmed that production has begun for The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The singer and songwriter admitted that filming started and shared the safety guidelines they're following due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It's a lot of rules because more than anything they care about our safety,” Burruss told Extra.

“We're getting tested all the time,” Burruss said. “That’s what we have to do to be to continue to tape together, we have to make sure everyone’s status is negative.”

Last month, Burruss revealed during a recent live chat with TS Madison that she along with co-star Kenya Moore was asked to return for Season 13.

“I got my letter if that’s what you asking me. A whole bunch of people are going to be mad because they’re going to be like ‘Oh she don’t need to be on there she boring [unintelligible],” Burruss said.

As for Moore, Madison asked Burruss as to why the former Miss USA winner removed ‘RHOA’ from her social media bios.

To which Kandi simply replied, “She did get her letter so I don’t know.”

According to a report by HollywoodLife, “Cynthia [Bailey], Porsha [Williams], Kenya [Moore], Kandi [Burruss] and NeNe [Leakes] were sent contracts to return to the show full-time.”

The site also revealed that “Friends” Marlo Hampton and Tanya Sam “have been asked back” in their same roles. “They’re all planning on returning,” the source revealed, noting, “A few of them have signed their contracts already, while a few haven’t yet.”

Last month, Eva Marcille announced her departure from the series after three seasons. “I appreciate the bond of friendship that I have made with several of my castmates and the strong personal relationships I have with numerous executives and producers at the Bravo and Truly Entertainment companies,” she said in a statement to Us Weekly.

“I am thankful for the opportunity I was provided. However, after speaking with my family and representatives, I believe that what I hope to accomplish for the culture and community will be better served by focusing on other opportunities. I look forward to serving my community on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show and finding ways to be a voice during this transformational time in our country for people of color.”

Marcille joined the Bravo reality series as a friend of the Housewives during the show's tenth season, which premiered in November 2017. She was promoted to full-time Housewife the following year, which she served as a main cast member during the show's eleventh and twelfth seasons.
