Larsa Pippen has officially joined The Real Housewives of Miami as a full-time cast member after months of rumors.
According to Radar Online, the mother-of-four has finally signed her contract for the upcoming reboot series for Peacock.
Sources tell the outlet that Pippen is “super excited about her next chapter” and is completely unbothered following Malik Beasley’s dating diss.
In February 2021, it was confirmed that RHOM is in development at NBC Universal’s streaming service Peacock. A reboot of the reality series has officially been greenlit during the Television Critics Association Press Tour via PEOPLE.
Andy Cohen is set to executive produce alongside Matt Anderson, Nate Green and Cooper Green at Purveyors of Pop.
Sources revealed that former cast members, as well as potential new hopefuls, are vying for a spot on the upcoming reboot.
“I hear everyone and their mother is auditioning,” an insider told Page Six.
Sources reveal that former cast members Marysol Patton and Lisa Hochstein are angling for a return, while another source share that Pippen and Alexia Echevarria could be coming back for the reboot.
Along with some familiar faces, the insider adds that “some young, fresh, unknown, rich young housewives with lots of money and amazing homes” want to join the series.
A few weeks back, TMZ reported that Joanna Krupa and Lea Black were not returning for the revival of the series. The site claimed that the reason why Black is out is due to her bicoastal living situation, as she spends several months out of the year at her L.A. home.
As far as Joanna - she has no plans to return to the series as she now resides in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter. The model turned reality star released a statement to the outlet as to why she will not be returning.
“In 8 years I have grown a lot as a person and my priorities in life have changed especially after having an amazing little girl. I love to work, I have great and long-lasting TV shows in Poland, and continue doing other projects,” she told TMZ.
She added, “Women need to uplift and support each other and I would never at this point in my life consider doing a show that would cause me stress and engage in unnecessary drama. I wish everyone luck and huge success that will be part of the reboot.”
The series, which was the seventh iteration of the Real Housewives franchise, originally ran for three seasons from 2011 to 2013 and is just one of two installments to ever be canceled. The Real Housewives of D.C. ended after one season in 2010.
In February 2021, sources confirmed that the reality show is in fact returning to Bravo. “The Real Housewives of Miami is coming back and Bravo is already in the full swing of interviewing potential cast mates to hire,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.
Sources claim that producers were looking to add a diverse cast. “They have started interviewing a bunch of different women,” the insider told Us Weekly. “They want to have a very diverse cast and are speaking to women from all different backgrounds.”
The source adds that a few of the potential cast members have already been interviewed “several times” and the network is getting “very close to narrowing down a cast.”
Back in November, Andy Cohen revealed on the “Everything Iconic” podcast that he was trying to get NBCUniversal — which owns Bravo — to pick up a new season of the show for the NBCUniversal streaming service, Peacock.
“I have really been trying to get Peacock to pick up Miami,” he said. “I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this. I don’t know where we are with that. I have to say the fans of Miami are still very vocal, and so I’ve been an advocate for Peacock bringing back Miami.”
RHOM made its debut in February 2011 - the original cast consisted of Lea Black, Adriana de Moura, Alexia Echevarria, Marysol Patton, Larsa Pippen, and Cristy Rice. Pippin and Rice left the show, and Lisa Hochstein, Joanna Krupa, Ana Quincoces, and Karent Sierra joined the cast for seasons 2 and 3.
