RHOMelbourne Fans Upset About Gina Liano, Lydia Schiavello And Pettifleur Berenger Not Returning To The Series After Foxtel Revealed New Cast For Season 5!

It appears that many fans of The Real Housewives of Melbourne are unhappy after Foxtel revealed that official cast for the show's upcoming season.

If you recall, Gamble Breaux, Gina Liano, Lydia Schiavello, Janet Roach were originally scheduled to return along with new cast members Anjali Rao, Cherry Dipietrantonio, and Kyla Kirkpatrick when Foxtel announced the Season 5 lineup in February 2020.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the series was put on hold for over a year. Now, the NEW cast for Season 5 was revealed on April 15, 2021.

The cast consists of Breaux, Roach, Rao, Dipietrantonio, and Kirkpatrick. They will be joined by new cast member Simone Elliott and in a shocking twist, original cast member Jackie Gillies is returning to the series after originally quitting last year.

Sadly this confirms that Liano and Schiavello will not be returning to the series as originally planned. Many fans of the series appear to be upset that Gina and Lydia will not be returning to the series as they are vowing to boycott the upcoming new season.

"No Gina, No Lydia - why bother?" a fan tweeted, according to The Daily Mail

Another fan wrote, "Please don’t bother releasing it without Gina & Lydia. There, I said it."

"Why no Gina and Lydia," an upset fan tweeted. "This season is gonna be crap."

Another user wrote, "Gina being gone was a gut punch but they took Lydia from us too? Throw it away."

One user tweeted, "No Gina? Ok. No Lydia? Wtf? And Jackie’s back?! I was so happy when Jackie exited. This ain’t worth the wait. Bring back Sydney."

While another one wrote, "Happy with this cast… but don’t know if I can get past no [Gina] and [Lydia’ this is a tough one."

Another added, Not the same without Gina and Lydia. Show will be poorer without them

Some fans also expressed disappointment that former cast member Pettifleur Berenger wasn't coming back to the series.

"We need you right now Pettifleur," a user wrote, while another tweeted, "They should have brought back Pettifleur instead of Jackie."

Another one wrote, "No Lydia …. No Gina … No Pettifleur …… I'm  losing my will to live"

Both Lydia and Gina addressed their exits in a lengthy statement via Instagram after Foxtel unveiled the official Season 5 cast.

"A big congratulations  to the cast of The Real Housewives of Melbourne season 5!!! How exciting and welcome to the 4 newbies," Liano wrote. I will miss you all and look forward to watching you in season 5!!!"

"Thank you to Foxtel and matchbox pictures for a wonderful 4 seasons and for your well wishes as I step back from the show," she continued. "An extra big thank you to all my gorgeous followers who have travelled through the last 4 glorious seasons of #RHOMelbourne with me and have made it the most enjoyable ride."

Gina added, "I have loved it and am eternally grateful for all your love and support ❤️ Sending lots of love to you all always 😘 #excitingtimesahead 🍾🥂💃🏻 Love Gina xxxx 💋."

As for Lydia, she wrote, "The last four seasons have truly been an extraordinary journey, incredibly entertaining and good fun but with much consideration, I have made the personal decision to step away from RHOMelbourne. I love the show, I love the girls and all the people involved from Foxtel to the production house Matchbox, however the changes of this world caused me to pause and re-evaluate my life. "Sharing my personal life with you and in Lydia’s kitchen together with Mr Figaro has brought me tremendous joy."

"I will miss the camaraderie the interaction with viewers and the challenges that my fellow cast members presented. I look forward to spending quality time with my husband, family and friends."

Lydia also thanked Brian Walsh, Foxtel's executive director of television, "I want to thank Brian Walsh for the incredible opportunity and his unrelenting support."

She also thanked the fans for all their love and support. "MY FANS for all their love and support. We have cried and laughed together THANK YOU for your care kindness and heartfelt messages for the last 9 years I could not have done it without YOU. My achievements, determination and passion have been with your support. I will always be grateful, I will always be connected to you."

Schiavello added, "Thanks to all the behind the scenes: camera crew, sound crew, art director, runners, publicity, photographers, stylists and most of all my hair and make up team thank you. X
I wish Season 5 ladies all the best. ❤️"
