Luann de Lesseps Says She Was “Surprised, But Not Shocked” Over Tinsley Mortimer’s Split From Scott Kluth!

Luann de Lesseps is sharing her thoughts on Tinsley Mortimer and Scott Kluth's split.

“I keep in touch with Tinsley. God knows that we all have to make our own mistakes. God, you know, obviously I’m always in trouble with one man or another on the show. So, you know, we all have to make our own journey and this was part of her journey and I think every experience leads you to the next place in your life.” Luann told Us Weekly on the Friday, April 30, episode of the “Getting Real with the Housewives” podcast. “When you close one door, a new chapter opens. I’m sorry for her that it didn’t work out. I hate to say that I was a little skeptical that it wouldn’t work out.”

“I feel for her because I’ve kind of been, not in the same position, but you know, where things don’t work out the way you kind of expect it to,” Luann continued. “I was surprised, but not shocked.”

The news comes after Kluth confirmed the split after he released a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday, March 18. “After fourteen months of engagement, Tinsley and I have ended our relationship, and we have been living independently for the last few months,” the Coupon Cabin CEO said. “This was an incredibly difficult decision, but it is one that I believe is best for both of us. I will always care about Tinsley, and I sincerely wish her happiness and success in all that she does in the future.”

He added, “While I understand this news will be of interest to many, I ask for privacy and understanding during this time as I continue to work on recovering emotionally from the end of our relationship.”

A source told Us Weekly that the split has been “devastating” for Mortimer, adding, “He completely blindsided her.”

Mortimer and Kluth met in February 2017 on a blind date set up by her then RHONY co-star Carole Radziwill. They broke up that October and got back together soon after, only to split again in June 2018.

The former couple continued to have an on-off relationship in the months that followed before getting engaged in November 2019. Mortimer subsequently quit the Bravo reality series to be with her then-fiancé.
