Ronnie Negus Celebrates Five Years Of Sobriety!

Congratulations are in order for Ronnie Negus. The former Real Housewives of Vancouver star took to Instagram to share with fans her biggest milestone yet - five years of sobriety.

"5 YEARS SOBER !!," she began in a lengthy Instagram post. "I Don’t know where 5 years just came and went ....I was contemplating what to write in this post and couldn’t really think of anything to say that I haven’t already written in my last 4 sobriety posts, and so I thought I’d dedicate this post to someone who I really cared about who died 5 years ago .... To Carter Lay who I met at passages in 2010... Carter died at the of age of 44 in 2015, I still struggle with this We were to leave for Texas on my birthday Sept 6th to go meet his family. Carter died Sept 3rd, very sadly I met his family for the first time at his funeral. It was surreal."

"Carter and I started hanging out when my husband and I were separated for 3.5 years, by the way my husband is such a cool understanding dude that he is totally cool with this post ) !! On that note Im am so grateful Russell and I are Standing Strong! I Sometimes people grow apart and sometimes people grow together we grew apart and found our way back to one another," she continued. "My philosophy on this is that true love never dies.... I’m also very spiritual and believe in fate and destiny I believe our lives unfold as they are meant to unfold I also believe that we are to meet certain people along the way, It has been said people come into our lives for a season a reason or a lifetime."

"All of us have experienced loss somehow I like to take peace in knowing that we are all made up of energy and energy never really dies," she wrote. "Touching on addiction now for a moment, a person can be addicted to almost anything. If you are reading this and you are struggling with alcohol I am here for you. Send me a DM, I answer everyone who needs help. & dont be afraid to ask for help, there is no shame is having an addiction there us to be huge stigma around it, not so much any more as people are starting to open up and talk."

She added, "Enjoy life, every moment of it, every breath you take is in sync with someone else’s last. & Remember Every day above ground is a good day 🙏🏻 Special thanks 2 @zimmer08 for making this photo shoot Possible @hotelbelmont You’re the best !!"

Ronnie concluded, "Here’s to you Carter and here’s to 5 years 🙌🏻And to my wonderful husband and the life we live today ♥️"

As previously reported, Negus appeared on two seasons of The Real Housewives of Vancouver. Ronnie admitted that she had fun during the first season but regrets returning for the second season right after her daughter Remington nearly died after a choking accident.

"I really shouldn't have been back on [the] second season, and I should have healed," Negus told ET Canada back in 2015. "I thought if I went back, it would be really good for me to get my mind off what had just happened to Remington. I thought, Well, that'll be good, I'll go back on, and I can move forward. And truthfully, it was completely the wrong thing."

Negus experienced panic attacks during filming, "Like I was choking - similar to what happened to Remy," to the point that producers had to stop filming. Since the show ended, Ronnie has been living a more calm and peaceful time, large part because of her found sobriety, and remains close friends with former cast member Robin Reichman.

The Real Housewives of Vancouver made their official debut when the first season premiered on April 4, 2013, on Canadian network Slice. After two successful seasons, the television network decided to put the series "on hold" for unknown reasons, which later resulted in cancellation. The last episode aired during the show's second season finale on April 9, 2013.
