Ariana Madix And Tom Sandoval React To Jax Taylor And Brittany Cartwright Leaving ‘Vanderpump Rules’ — Plus Charli Burnett Shades Jax After Announcing His Exit ; Says “I Do Know My Role, And It’s Employed”

Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval, and Charli Burnett are reacting to Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s departure from Vanderpump Rules.

“We saw [the news] literally right as I was about to click on [HollywoodLife’s] page. But we don’t — We know as much as you,” Ariana told HollywoodLife while she and Tom were in the middle of demonstrating how to make the perfect holiday cocktail as they celebrated the one-year anniversary of their Fancy AF Cocktails book. Tom looked just as surprised, adding that they had “no idea.”

“Literally, as I was about to click on your page I was like, ‘Oh, [Jax and Brittany are] going live,’ saw it, and that’s it. So we’re here. We don’t know. We have no inside. We’re out of the loop…but yeah, crazy,” she continued.

“We had no idea!” Tom said again, reiterating his surprise. Ariana added, “You know more than we do.” To lighten the mood, Tom then grabbed one of the ingredients in the middle of their kitchen demonstration and exclaimed, “At least we’re making a cocktail!”

“I’m one of those people where it takes a long time to process things,” Ariana admitted. With that said, she added, “Get back to me next week!”

Meanwhile, Charli Burnett took to Twitter after Taylor announced that he and his wife Brittany were leaving the Bravo hit reality series.

“I guess I know my role, and it’s employed,” she wrote along with a smiling emoji on Saturday, December 5.

Burnett’s comment appeared to reference a message that Taylor wrote in June: “Last time [I] checked, 50-year-old men are the only reason that chic[k] can survive in this town,” he wrote earlier this year. “Know your role sweetie. Don’t throw rocks in glass houses.”

During part one of the Pump Rules season 8 reunion that month, Burnett referred to Jax as an “old man,” a “bully” and “retired.” Taylor shot back that as a newcomer, she should learn “her role.”

Taylor and Brittany Cartwright confirmed their exit from the Bravo hit reality series on Friday, Dec. 4, in separate Instagram posts.

“The last 8 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life,” Taylor wrote while sharing several throwback photos from his time on the show.

“Although this is difficult to share, Brittany and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules. We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors,” he continued. “@bravotv, @evolutionusa and our Vanderpump castmates will always remain close to our hearts. Thank you to all the fans who have shared our journey with us and supported us through everything. We love you."

“Stay tuned, We can’t wait for to share what we have planned,” he concluded. “Have a great weekend. 💟”

Cartwright shared the same note in her own Instagram post, also sharing several throwback photos, including some snapshots from their wedding, according to PEOPLE.

“The last 5 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life. Although this is difficult to share, Jax and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules.”

She continued, “We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors. @bravotv, @evolutionusa and our Vanderpump castmates will always remain close to our hearts.”

She added, “Thank you to all the fans who have shared our journey with us and supported us through everything. We love you. Stay tuned ♥️”
The couple's departure comes after former Vanderpump Rules stars Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni were fired in June.

Schroeder and Doute were fired for accusing former co-star Faith Stowers of being a woman wanted by the police with Schroeder admitting she called the authorities on Stowers. Schroeder and Doute have both issued public apologies for their past racially insensitive actions towards Stowers.

Boyens and Caprioni were fired after old racist and homophobic tweets resurfaced last winter.
