Gizelle Bryant sounds off about the physical fight between her Real Housewives of Potomac co-stars Candiace Dillard Bassett and Monique Samuels.
"I was completely shocked, I was disturbed for days afterwards," she told the Daily Star. "When we film we have real emotion but we always have found a way for things not to escalate to that level and for it to get there was never something that I thought would happen, so I wasn't happy."
She continued, "But it allowed us, on the other side of it, to really have some good discussions about who and what we are as black women in this country, and what we represent."
"So if there's any silver lining, it's that we were able to talk about what matters and to kind of hold ourselves up to a level that we're proud of."
The incident took place at a dinner with their fellow cast members in October 2019. Samuels allegedly grabbed Dillard Bassett by the hair and pulled her down.
Monique and Candiace were both charged with second-degree assault after they both filed a complaint against each other following the incident. The charges were later dropped, but if the case continued, they both would have faced jail time.
