Tinsley Mortimer Shuts Down Reports That She Stopped Filming RHONY After Scott Kluth Engagement; Says “I Will Continue To Honor My Work Commitments In NYC”

After Luann de Lesseps claimed that Tinsley Mortimer stopped filming The Real Housewives of New York City after getting engaged to Scott Kluth, sources are revealing that the blonde socialite quit the series after her CouponCabin fiancé gave her an ultimatum.

UPDATE: Tinsley set the record straight on rumors that she stopped filming the Bravo hit reality series after getting engaged.

Mortimer denies that she was pushed into an exit from RHONY. She also confirms that after a brief break from filming the show’s upcoming 12th season, she will be returning to New York City to film RHONY in the next few days.

“Scott and I have been celebrating our engagement in Chicago, where I will soon call home,” Mortimer said in a statement to PEOPLE. “The last few weeks have been such a wonderful whirlwind of excitement, and we both wanted to spend this special time with each other and our families.”

“As with many relationships, life does not completely stop for love, which is why I will continue to honor my work commitments in NYC while Scott focuses on CouponCabin’s busy season in Chicago,” Mortimer continues.

She adds: “It’s important for me to set the record straight. Any reports saying that I had to decide between Scott or the show are 100 percent untrue. We are enjoying this incredibly happy time in our lives.”

A source revealed that Mortimer walked away from filming with five weeks left on her contract.

“Scott gave her an ultimatum: ‘me or the show,’ and she chose him,” the insider told PEOPLE. “He loves the limelight but hated the negative effect the show had on their relationship. And Tinsley, she’s desperate to make the relationship work and was on the outs with the group as it was.”

Apparently, Mortimer’s exit from RHONY is expected to play out on season 12, when the show returns to Bravo in 2020.

Meanwhile, another source claims that Tinsley has not quit the series despite skipping the cast trip to Mexico and de Lesseps claiming she stopped filming after getting engaged.

“Tinsley is still filming but she didn’t go on the girl’s trip because she just got engaged to Scott and she is in Chicago as they want to be together during this happy time,” a source told Us Weekly. “She is not going to girl’s dinners and girls’ trips when this is a time she should be spending with her new fiancé.”

Another source has revealed that Tinsley has not quit the series. A source told E! News that while Tinsley has not filmed in Chicago, she will be flying back to New York to film before the end of the season.

“She will 100 percent be at the reunion and her status remains a housewife,” the insider told E! News.

“No, she is not in every scene and was not on the recent cast trip but it happens all the time when not every cast member is available,” the source adds. “She was recently engaged and stayed in Chicago to celebrate with her new fiancé.”

The news comes after de Lesseps confirmed that Mortimer stopped filming after getting engaged to Kluth. During a Q&A session at her cabaret show, Countess and Friends, Luann said that Mortimer's mom Dale Mercer was “probably jumping for joy” over the engagement — though likely wasn’t too happy that Mortimer had left RHONY.

“I think she’s more upset that Tinsley’s not filming anymore now that she’s marrying Scott than Tinsley is,” said de Lesseps.

As for Mortimer, de Lesseps said, “I wish her all the best.”

“She seems very happy and I want her to be happy and get married. That’s what she wants to do. She’s very traditional,” the Countess said. “She wants to have a baby. It’s time.”

“I just hope there’s not [an alcohol-fueled fight] and the whole thing doesn’t implode,” de Lesseps teased.

Rumors surfaced last month that Mortimer had quit the Bravo hit reality series to move to Chicago after rekindling a romance with Kluth.

The socialite was with De Lesseps Lesseps and their co-stars Dorinda Medley, Leah McSweeney, and Ramona Singer at BravoCon in early November but has not been seen filming with them since, skipping the cast trip to Mexico last week.
