Danielle Staub Postpones Wedding To Fiancé Oliver Maier Days After Announcing Engagement; Oliver Isn’t Really A Duke Of Provence, Source Says!

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub and her new fiancé Oliver Maier have decided to postpone their wedding as they decided to wait just “a bit” longer before tying the knot, a source told PEOPLE.

“Danielle’s daughters haven’t met him yet,” the source told Us Weekly of Staub’s two daughters, Jillian and Christine Staub, who she had with her second husband Thomas Staub. “After today she realized she wants to bring her kids into the process more. The wedding has been postponed. Her daughters were surprised because everything happened so fast.”

A rep revealed that the Real Housewives of New Jersey star was planning to tie the knot on Monday, March 4 with the businessman, who another source said she had been seeing for “about six weeks.”

Meanwhile, a new source reveals that Staub’s whirlwind romance with Maier has come to an end. The Bravo reality star and the businessman have called it quits after postponing their wedding, multiple sources told Us Weekly.

Another source reveals to the publication that the former couple went shopping for an engagement ring over the weekend, but Maier ultimately did not purchase one for Staub — even though she showed it off online.

That's not all. According to a new report, Maier isn't really a duke. Maier previously claimed he’s the duke of Provence, but Page Six is reporting that there’s actually no such thing. Provence was inherited by King Louis XI of France in 1481 and subsequently became part of the French royal domain — making Maier’s title obsolete.

“He’s a descendant of the duke from around 700 years ago,” an insider recently explained to Page Six. “The lineage doesn’t exist anymore. The title is pointless.”
