Andy shared the news by sharing a black and white photo of him holding his son. The Real Housewives executive producer revealed that the name was in honor of his grandfather Ben Allen.
“WOW! This is my son, Benjamin Allen Cohen. He is 9 lbs 2 ounces !!, 20 inches !! Born at 6:35 pm, PT” Cohen wrote on Instagram. “He is named after my grandfather Ben Allen.”
“I’m in love. And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I’m a dad. Wow. ♥️🌈”
Cohen first announced that he was expecting his first child via surrogate on the December 20 episode of WWHL, while surrounded by OG Real Housewives Vicki Gunvalson, Ramona Singer, NeNe Leakes, Kyle Richards and Teresa Giudice.
“Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science — if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks time I’m going to become a father,” he shared.
A few days later, during CNN’s live New Year’s Eve show, Cohen revealed that he would be having a son. “It’s a boy and I got to tell you something, I cannot wait to meet this boy.”
