Dolores Catania: “My Decision To Reinvent Myself Couldn’t Have Come At A Better Time”

Dolores Catania is taking to her Bravo Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Dolores Catania is eager to move on from the past and focus on loving herself.

Dolores writes:

"What a party!!! Thank you so much to my dear friends, Teresa and Siggy, for throwing me such a beautiful birthday celebration. Just as she does with everything in her life, Siggy really put her heart and soul into planning the event and making everything perfect, and it truly showed. The ladies and I bonded and had some really great laughs –- I think it’s safe to say that everyone had a wonderful time (especially Melissa!). Drink up.

That afternoon was the perfect way for me to begin a new chapter in my life , a chapter where I can FINALLY begin to focus on ME. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been giving all of myself to everyone else around me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved every minute of raising my children and caring for my friends and family. But my kids are growing up quickly, and while they’ll always need me (I hope!), they’ve become more and more independent. I couldn’t be more proud of my Gabby and Frankie and the incredible people they have turned out to be! The time is right now for me to put as much energy into myself as I have into everyone around me through the years.

After being in some crummy, unsuccessful relationships, it’s taken awhile for me to finally realize my worth and that I deserve someone wonderful to share my life with. Before I go down that road, I know that I need to love myself unconditionally first. I owe it to myself after all I’ve been through. I'm working on that.

My decision to reinvent myself couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m so thrilled to be an "official" Housewife! You may have seen me on the show before, as I’ve appeared on several episodes in the past. The timing for me to join was just right! I'm happy that you'll be joining me on this RHONJ roller coaster ride. Get ready to see a lot of ups and downs, but most of all real friendships, real relationships and real life."
