Tiffany Hendra is taking to her Bravo Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Dallas. Tiffany shares her thoughts on Heidi Dillon's awkward party and Aaron's performance at the House of Blues.
Tiffany writes:
"Welcome to episode 7! We did it! Let me break into the (((happy dance))) for a sec. We worked hard on the "Light Up Tomorrow" charity concert at the House Of Blues, and it took a leap of faith, but we did it! LeeAnne gave me some great advice from all her experiences putting together charity events, so then to get a few words of wisdom from Heidi Dillon made me feel equipped to pull this thing off. I took their advice and thought over all the things I had learned about the charity world since moving to Dallas, then managed to figure out how to make it true to who we are. I'm really happy about that!
LeeAnne really does know the ins and outs of how to put on a successful charity event, and I'm so grateful she has introduced me to influential women like Abi Ferrin, Cynthia Smoot, Heidi Dillon and Amy Vanderoef who supported me on this event.
Now, I would have preferred it if it all had gone down without this idle chatter and tension about Cary's marriage. I mean, can't we just focus on important issues like raising funds to install the solar farm in the orphanage in S. Sudan so the children have more light to study with AND my man's hair? Just kidding. Couldn't resist...
My man's hair did need to be on point for his big debut, and I gladly multi-task with the roles of wardrobe consultant, hairspray assistant, flat iron operator, groupie and wife. Obviously, we are a couple who take pride in rockin' some good hair and Aaron's such a great sport about everyone saying he looks like Keith Urban because of said hair. But, to hear that someone said he looked like Billy Ray Cyrus cracked me up, because I think of him back in the day with that horrific mullet. LOL! Aaron looks like the love child of Keith Urban and Johnny Rzeznik from the Goo Goo Dolls, but Billy Ray? NO WAY! Ok so I went a little crazy with my hair. So what! I love a funky faux hawk and have fun with fashion. I've got the #Ladyballs to go for it and don't really care if LeeAnne or anyone else liked it or not. Important thing is, I liked it and it felt perfect with the rocker jumpsuit Abi Ferrin gave me to wear for the event. Like I said, higher the hair, closer to God, so I was super holy that night. It's all in fun, people!
Aaron totally rocked the event! #ProudWifey. He used to love playing at the HOB's Foundation Room on Sunset Blvd and really wanted to play at the one in Dallas. We just had to make that location happen for this event! For me, it was a dream come true to see him playing in my home state with his best friend and drummer, GiGi Gonaway (formerly with Mariah Carey for 16 years) by his side on the stage. Our nearest and dearest were all in one room to celebrate this milestone with us. It brings tears to my eyes writing this now and reminiscing on that night. My parents and sister came in town, as well as several of my closest Texas friends who have been supporting us all these years while we were in LA. So, this event could not have been more perfect for his Dallas debut and tying in the special project we've been working on in Africa.
It was also wonderful to see all our new friends there supporting as well.
After all the drama and stress we had all been dealing with, it was nice to all come together and share this heartfelt moment. The drama pales in comparison to children and family in need. Even though we were in a rock n' roll venue, God was there that night. Aaron and I had been praying for Brandi's brother, but I had no idea Aaron was going to dedicate "My Number One" to Michael at the event. It was such a beautiful surprise although I wasn't all that surprised, because it is so like my husband. He's not interested in being some famous cocky rockstar but just wants his music to heal and inspire people. Aaron's a true humanitarian, and I could not be more proud of him!
What the hell with that bizarre goth party at Heidi Dillon's? It was probably one of the absolute worst and more boring parties I've ever attended in Dallas. That made me feel bad for Heidi because she put so much effort into it!
I do have to mention that the frito chili pie was off the chain delish -- in case you were wondering! That truly was the highlight of the party. Oh, and Steve Kemble's fabulous bearded lady costume! Funniest costume ever! You can always count on Steve for a great laugh, but even that wasn't enough for this tough crowd. You could cut the tension in that room with a freaking knife!
I know LeeAnne must have been anxious from the start because the girls were stepping into her inner circle. I didn't know that little Taylor was coming, and I had been marinating in the knowledge that Marie had told him that private story about LeeAnne so I was uncomfortable. Brandi and Steph were just on the mend with LeeAnne. I'm not sure anyone was in a good headspace. Probably NOT the right time to have this party. Heidi deserves a do-over! Bad vibe after bad vibe, and it was just like a domino effect. It all went to hell in a hand basket fast.
I was getting so bored and just wanted to leave. You can see me in the background on my phone, so I didn't hear Heidi ask Cary to "demonstrate" with the corn dog until I saw this episode. Ummmm, ok I get it. She was trying to liven things up or Heidi was just digging back at Cary over the awkward moment they had at the House Of Blues. Again, so boring. Now I'm craving a frito pie.
I'm just stoked that we are a few steps closer to heading back to Africa and starting the next phase of our project. Aaron went over to Africa to install the first LED light panel back in the Summer of 2013 then we moved to Dallas and then Ebola scare happened and prevented us from traveling back to Africa. We've got sponsors on board and the lights are ready to go. Keep us in your prayers that all the remaining pieces come together so we can make this finally happen. I miss the kids so much and can't wait to get back to see them!
I just want to add one last thing. It was such a challenging week with everyone judging my prayer with LeeAnne before we confronted Marie in the last episode, but I do not regret my actions. You can mock me or question my spirituality, but I will never pass up the opportunity to pray with someone in need. Today, LeeAnne and I are solid. Our sisterhood is intact and stronger than ever. She was betrayed and lied to. We can't control other people's actions. All we can control is our reaction to it. I will have her back again and again, and I know she would have mine."
