Chyka Keebaugh Weighs In On Lydia Schiavello And Susie McLean's Sit-Down!

Despite writing a blog for Arena for this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Melbourne, Chyka Keebaugh is taking to her personal blog to dish more about what went down on Episode 4. Chyka Keebaugh weighs in on Susie McLean and Lydia Schiavello's sit-down and dishes on Gamble Breaux's bridal shower. Pettifleur writes:

"Episode four starts back at Gamble’s house where the invitations for her wedding have been handed out and Pettifleur has asked Gamble if she has thought about it properly…. Seriously! I don’t think Gamble hasn’t thought of her guest list! I believe we were all so shocked with how Pettifleur handled the situation. So here we go again, another party ruined with some more screaming and crying. Will it ever end? I felt sorry for Gamble; she was so excited to invite us all and then it turns into fighting. I know PF felt under attack from the girls as Lydia had said no one likes her and talks behind her back, but really? Was questioning the invitation necessary? I’m not sure where I have been and what conversations are being had, but the whole ‘talking behind your back’ is just not true. This situation certainly didn’t help her cause and I felt that Gamble was incredibly strong to have been so gracious. I’m hoping we are going to have fun in Byron with a stress-free wedding for Gamble’s sake because it hasn’t started off too well! The next thing we know, Lydia’s crying and feeling responsible. She has no one else to blame and fingers crossed she has learnt from her mistakes.

I loved the shopping scene between Gina and Gamble. It was definitely time for a light and bright moment after all that fighting!

Janet and Brian catch up and Janet explains about her post-traumatic disorder. She has had a hard four years and I think the fact that Janet now knows what has been happening to her has made her feel so much better. I love that Brian is trying to use it as an excuse for why they broke up – God love him! Janet is an amazing woman and I love seeing her so happy with all her family together again. It was lovely to see all the laughter and happiness at the table. When she explained to her family the situation, it feels that it’s a huge relief for them all and explained so much. I also loved Brains speech – so beautiful!

Lydia and Gina catch up to talk about Susie and all the dramas that are going on between them. There is a long history of Susie and Lydia which will all unfold but it’s interesting to hear Ginas take on it all. I hadn’t realised that she had told so much to Susie over the time that she and Lydia weren’t talking. All I can say is that until Susie came into this friendship group, we had never talked about Lydia and what her issues were. As I’ve said before, this has nothing to do with me and, therefore, I have no reason to put in my 5 cents worth. I think Lydia assumes I have been talking about her with Susie, but in all honesty, I haven’t!

We come to the event I did at my place for Gamble. I thought it would be a cute idea to have all the girls come in their wedding dresses to a bridal shower for Gamble. Do I need to say that my dress is 24 years old and when I had that made for my wedding I thought it was the most beautiful dress I had ever seen! Yes I do look like a middle aged woman in a meringue dress and it probably now looks old-fashioned next to some of the other girls dresses but I still love it.

It was so fun to see all the girls dressed up and, in fact; it was a lovely afternoon spent drinking champagne and talking about memories of our weddings. It did become a little emotional and my heart broke when Gamble opened up about her sadness at not having had a child and how important Luke is to her. He is a lucky boy to now have Gamble as his mum! Pettifleur also shared with us about her dad never having walked her down the aisle and how sad that made her. It’s funny how the dresses made everyone open up and some show a true and vulnerable side.

Lydia and Susie go off together and talk about what it is that is causing so much tension between them. I’m not sure if how Lydia went about this conversation the right way. It’s very easy for her to dismiss Susie’s feelings and say that what she has heard and felt for the last couple of years isn’t true! Sometimes as friends we have to accept that we feel different about a situation and we see it completely differently. I like that they have both decided to draw a line in the sand and start again. I’m not sure if that’s possible or even know if they both want to be friends. Sometimes you have to go a little deeper than what they did to start that process.

We did have a fun day and it was relatively drama free – at least, there was no shouting. We also missed Gina who had, unfortunately, something else on that day.

Next week it’s Byron Bay and the wedding! Chyka xx"
