Luann de Lesseps: “My Family Comes First, And I Will Protect It To The End, And If That Means Losing A Friend, So Be It”

Countess Luann de Lesseps is taking to her Bravo Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of New York City reunion. Luann comments on the reunion drama and gives the recipe for her famous Eggs à la Francaise. Luann writes:

"It’s reunion time, and we are on the couch with Andy working through the issues that emerged this season. All the girls looked fabulous, although I don’t know how Kristen pulled off that dress…she had to stay still or risk a wardrobe malfunction! I loved Bethenny’s hair and Sonja’s outfit--gorgeous--and I wore a Countess Collection dress that I designed for this occasion.

I love that one of Andy’s first questions was about my Eggs à la Francaise recipe, so here it is:

Luann’s Eggs à  la Francaise

8 eggs
2 tablespoons of milk
Pinch of salt and pepper
1 tablespoon butter

Directions: Whisk eggs with the milk, salt, and pepper. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add eggs and cook on low heat, stirring continuously so the texture is very fine and creamy. The consistency should resemble polenta. You can add a dash of truffle oil or a spoonful of tomato sauce to give it a new twist. Serves four. That’s it…simple and delicious!

I like to build my girlfriends up, not break them down, so when Carole mentioned that I made a toast to bringing Bethenny down, I didn’t remember saying this, but if I did, it was as a joke, and I own it. Bethenny and I have had our differences in the past, that’s for sure, but our relationship is now in a good place, and as hard as the girls try, they can’t mess with that. She’s a great gal, and I love her. As for her being homeless…she was. Homelessness doesn’t always equate to being poor and not having a place to call your own or hang your hat is a very difficult situation to be in when you are raising a child.

The girls rehashed what happened during Ramona’s birthday trip to Atlantic City beginning with having to stand in Sonja’s foyer for an hour and a half. I understand that Sonja was working out childcare issues, but she could have invited the girls in out of the cold and the rain. The trip went from chaos to cocktails then to cocktails and chaos. I don’t mind being Sonja’s snatch guard but we love and worry about her. She seems to be doing a lot better now since we stopped filming, and I’m so glad she resolved her lawsuit and can finally move on with her life.

The whole Adam/Carole issue came up, and Carole and I still do not see eye-to-eye on what happened. I’m completely over this situation and have publicly wished Carole and Adam all the best. My issue is not with their age difference but that she didn’t consider my or my niece’s feelings when she began dating Adam (practically living together…her words not mine). As for my flirtation with Eric, that’s exactly what it was and my having a bit of fun didn’t hurt anyone. My family comes first, and I will protect it to the end, and if that means losing a friend, so be it. Did I go skinny dipping with the houseboy? Yes, I did, but that’s as far as it went. What happens in Turks and Caicos should stay in Turks and Caicos! #GirlCode

As for me having an alter ego named “The Countess”, I’ve said this many times that the Countess is a part of who I am. Don’t you think the girls could come up with a more original or creative way to criticize me? Guess not!

Until next week when you’ll see Part Two of this exciting reunion, stay cool."
