Barbara Kavovit Drops Out Of NYC Mayoral Race!

Barbara Kavovit is no longer running for mayor of NYC. The former Real Housewives of New York City star dropped out of the New York City mayoral race after a short five-month campaign but teased that she isn’t giving up on politics.

“Running for mayor has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of my professional career,” she told Page Six last week.

“There is so much work that lies ahead to rebuild NYC and I’d like to see a qualified woman become the next Mayor of NYC, and that’s why I’m endorsing Kathryn Garcia.”

She added, “But don’t count me out, I’ll be running the same job in four years.”

Kavovit first announced the news on Instagram, telling her followers that NYC needs someone “who is strong, smart, ballsy, and not afraid of the hard work that lies ahead.”

While she never made it to the June 22 primary election ballot — the Evergreen Construction founder did not meet the petition requirements set by the New York City Board of Elections — she called her experience “amazing, positive and enlightening.”

“I want to thank my campaign staff and all my friends & family who supported me throughout my race. You will see me again in 4 years, but for now, let’s do this @kgfornyc!” she concluded.
