Claudia Jordan publically apologized after the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star faced backlash for tweeting that DMX died as the rapper is still on life support after he was hospitalized on Friday, April 2 due to a drug overdose and heart attack, according to TMZ.
“I’m sorry,” Jordan tweeted on Tuesday alongside prayer hands and broken heart emojis.
In a reply to a fan, Jordan said she had read a report online falsely claiming DMX was dead following his recent drug overdose and heart attack.
“I deleted it. And apologized. I feel awful,” she added of her original tweet, reports Page Six.
Jordan later clarified that she “didn’t intend on hurting anyone or doing anything wrong.”
“I understand how people are feeling as I am too. It’s been heavy on my mind since he fell ill. But they’re right. Not my place,” she wrote. “I just want to pray for the whole family & all his supporters that are in pain.”
Claudia, who only appeared on Season 7 of RHOA (2014-2015), came shortly after she posted, “Rest in Paradise DMX,” drawing outrage from the rapper’s fans.
The news comes after multiple outlets reported that DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, had overdosed at his home, which triggered a heart attack.
He is currently fighting for his life in a White Plains, New York, hospital. His manager Nakia Walker told the New York Times on Sunday that he was in a “vegetative state.” Another manager, Steve Rifkind, told TMZ on Wednesday that DMX was still on life support and scheduled to undergo a battery of brain tests.
UPDATE: On Thursday, the rapper’s manager urged fans to “stop posting rumours” falsely speculating that the “Party Up (Up in Here)” rapper has died.
“Everybody, please stop with posting these rumours,” Rifkind said via Instagram. “DMX is still alive. Yes, he is on life support, but please, it’s not helping anybody by having them see these false rumours.
“Let the family relax for a night, you’ll be hearing a statement from the family sometime tomorrow.”
Adding that he’d been working with DMX for the past three years, Rifkind once again added that “the only thing I ask is just stop with the rumours.”
