Shannon Beador claims her ex-husband’s new wife, Lesley Cook, rejected the baby gift she sent them.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star insisted that her daughters hand-delivered the gift when they were visiting their father David Beador and Cook.
“The girls said, ‘Mom got you a gift,'” Shannon said this week on SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live,” according to Page Six. “And David said, ‘That’s nice.’ And she said, ‘I don’t want it.'”
When asked what she gave them, Shannon said, “I didn’t want to go over the top. I wanted to be thoughtful.”
“So I bought a Madeline doll and three of the hardback books, and I said, ‘Congratulations on the birth of your child.'”
She added that it was her daughters’ favorite growing up. “It was just little, like, 75 bucks or something, you know, so I sent it with the girls to bring to the house,” Shannon explained, with her boyfriend John Janssen confirming the story.
The Bravo reality star noted that she has never met Cook. “That’s another thing, that’s two-and-a-half years spending half time with my children. Why haven’t we met? John and I just were perplexed.”
However, Lesley took to social media to deny Shannon's claims. Cook shared a screenshot of Page Six’s story via her Instagram Story. She wrote, “I declined a gift like my husband wrote you a check for $1,400,00.00 like you claimed on an episode.”
In the now-deleted post via her Instagram Stories, Cook assumed that she was getting a bunny, appearing to reference previous “RHOBH” drama between Lisa Rinna and Kim Richards.
She added, “This seems to be a Lifetime movie in the making. The horrible things I could share about you & I choose not to. Please stop harassing me on your platforms.”
Cook then shared a screenshot of a previous Page Six story, in which the publication reported that Shannon wanted an Apple Watch for Christmas last year.
“Funny how we bought her an Apple Watch for Christmas and she didn’t share that on her platforms. Unbelievable!!!” Cook wrote over the screenshot.
Cook then shared a video clip via her Instagram Story of her opening Beador's gift. “I came home to this today so apparently I did not decline a gift,” she laughed, according to Page Six. “Not really sure what’s going on but there’s a gift here. Let’s set the record straight.”
A note from Shannon read, “David and Lesley, Congratulations on the birth of Anna! Just a little something that was a favorite of all three girls!”
“Cute,” Cook commented, before pulling out a Madeline doll, which she confused for Raggedy Ann. “Cute,” she commented again.
She then unwrapped two hardcover books that Beador included, writing, “& two books. Apparently, I didn’t decline this gift after all…I need an aspirin.”
David and Lesley got engaged in January 2020 and tied the knot that October. They confirmed the arrival of their newborn daughter, Anna, via Instagram on Saturday, February 6. At the time, Lesley shared a pic of the pair celebrating their “first sunset with our sweet little Anna.”
The couple announced pregnancy news back in July 2020. “Lesley and I are excited to be expecting,” David told PEOPLE at the time. They later tied the knot this year.
Beador got engaged to Cook, nine months after finalizing his divorce from his ex-wife Shannon Storms Beador. “Today I Said YES to the man of my dreams. You complete me!” Cook captioned a photo via Instagram Stories on Thursday, January 30.
The couple began dating in 2017 shortly after David and Shannon called it quits on their 17-year marriage in October that same year. They first bonded over their love of exercise.
“We met at a SoulCycle class. We love to work out together,” she said at the time.
David and Shannon finalized their divorce in April 2020 following her December 2017 divorce filing. Shannon is in a happy relationship with her boyfriend John Janssen, with whom they recently celebrated their one-year anniversary.
David and Shannon share three daughters: Stella (19), and 16-yer-old twins Adeline and Sophie. Cook has a son and daughter from a previous relationship.
