The Real Housewives of New York City cast are reportedly questioning the timing of Bethenny Frankel’s announcement of her engagement to boyfriend Paul Bernon after divorcing ex-husband Jason Hoppy.
The ladies of the Big Apple find it suspicious that Bethenny Frankel decided to share the announcement the same day Bravo released the trailer for season 13, which is set to premiere on Tuesday, May 4.
“They’re all confused why she’s still obsessed with ‘RHONY’ and would orchestrate her engagement news to come out the same time as the trailer for the show,” a source told Page Six.
“Bethenny is just being her petty self, but she can’t take away the cast’s happiness or how hard they worked this season during the coronavirus pandemic.”
The source added, “The cast collectively feels like the show is so much better without her and that she wouldn’t have been able to navigate the serious topics of this season.”
However, insiders revealed that “Bethenny is living her best life and isn’t concerned with what the cast thinks.”
The news comes after it was reported that Frankel is engaged to Bernon after she finalized her contentious divorce from Hoppy, according to PEOPLE.
Hoppy and Frankel got married in 2010 and separated in December 2012. Frankel filed for divorce a month later. Though they reached a financial settlement in July 2016, the exes remained at odds over custody of their 10-year-old daughter Bryn for years.
While the twosome split in 2012 after less than three years of marriage, they didn’t finalize their contentious divorce until recently. Frankel’s rep confirmed to Us Weekly on Tuesday, March 23, that a judge signed off on their divorce judgment on January 20.
According to Page Six, a judge signed off on their divorce on Jan. 20.
The Skinnygirl mogul has been dating Bernon on and off for three years. Frankel was first linked to the 43-year-old businessman in 2018. However, the pair got together after they were spotted hanging out in Miami in January 2021.
However, the couple sparked engagement speculation earlier this month after Frankel was spotted rocking a giant diamond ring on the beach in Florida on Saturday, March 20.
