Kgomotso Ndungane reveals the real reason why she decided to join the cast of the first season of The Real Housewives of Duban, which is currently airing on Showmax.
The reality star admits that promoting her businesses was the main reason why she decided to join the cast. “During lockdown I created a brand called ‘Lelapa’, which is a home, body, and bath product range over and above my eventing and florist business. Since we weren’t having events during lockdown, I thought how I could turn this around and make sure that there is still cash flow in the business and that’s how ‘Lelapa’ was born,” she said during an appearance on East Coast Radio.
She continued, “I want people who are out there doubting themselves that their dreams can be achieved even in the midst of struggle. If you have the willpower you will have the opportunity to thrive.”
While Kgomotso is using this opportunity to build her empire, she understands that viewers are expecting her to deliver drama. “Drama is really important [in shows like The Real Housewives]. It wouldn’t be the show it is without some drama, let’s be honest,” Kgomotso told radio host Carol Ofori.
She added, “I think when a viewer is tuning in, they are watching the show for drama. At the moment, people are wondering what I am bringing to the table and are wanting me to bring some drama. For me, it’s all about understanding what my objective is for being on the show but also understanding the objective of the channel and understanding the format of the franchise. It’s entertainment and I will be bringing the people what they want!”
