Is ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Canceled? — ‘Variety’ Editor Shuts Down Cancellation Rumors And Claims Jax Taylor Was Fired!

Over the weekend, Jax Taylor and his wife Brittany Cartwright revealed that they’re leaving Vanderpump Rules. The couple, who is expecting their first child, announced the news to their fans via Instagram.

The couple announced that they will no longer appear on the Bravo hit reality series in separate Instagram posts.

“The last 8 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life,” Taylor wrote while sharing several throwback photos from his time on the show.

“Although this is difficult to share, Brittany and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules. We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors,” he continued. “@bravotv, @evolutionusa and our Vanderpump castmates will always remain close to our hearts. Thank you to all the fans who have shared our journey with us and supported us through everything. We love you."

“Stay tuned, We can’t wait for to share what we have planned,” he concluded. “Have a great weekend. 💟”

Cartwright shared the same note in her own Instagram post, also sharing several throwback photos, including some snapshots from their wedding. “The last 5 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life. Although this is difficult to share, Jax and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules.”

She continued, “We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors. @bravotv, @evolutionusa and our Vanderpump castmates will always remain close to our hearts.”

She added, “Thank you to all the fans who have shared our journey with us and supported us through everything. We love you. Stay tuned ♥️”

However, Variety’s editor-at-large, Kate Aurthur reported that Taylor was in fact fired from the series. She tweeted the following: “ICYMI, Jax and Brittany were fired. After the Stassi and Kristen firings for what they did to Faith Stowers, he was never going to be able to come back. (He said the same things.)”

Following Taylor and Cartwright’s announcement, fans of the series began to question the show’s future.

Tamara Tattles reported on December 4 that Vanderpump Rules was “permanently shelved.” The outlet shared that there was a zoom call between Bravo, Evolution, and Lisa Vanderpump on December 1 to discuss the fate of the show.

Apparently, Bravo decided not to extend the cast member’s contracts, and the entire cast has released from their contracts.

Sources tell the outlet that Jax wanted to have a spin-off series for him and Brittany and Evolution, the production company of the show, asked Bravo and they were not interested at this time. As for Lisa Vanderpump, she is still under a talent and EP deal until 2022.

But Tamara Tattles insists that the show has been canceled in a new article, which was reported on December 6, where the blogger breaks down why and how Bravo decided not to renew the series, despite Evolution trying to reboot the series by adding a diverse cast, even trying to pitch it to Peacock, however, the source claims that NBCUniversal passed on the idea.

But Variety’s editor-at-large, Kate Aurthur, is shutting down claims that the series has been axed. She replied to a user who shared the rumors about the series being canceled, to which she replied, “This isn’t true.”

The couple's departure comes after former Vanderpump Rules stars Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni were fired in June.

Schroeder and Doute were fired for accusing former co-star Faith Stowers of being a woman wanted by the police with Schroeder admitting she called the authorities on Stowers. Schroeder and Doute have both issued public apologies for their past racially insensitive actions towards Stowers.

Boyens and Caprioni were fired after old racist and homophobic tweets resurfaced last winter.
