John Mellencamp Says He’s ‘Terribly Excited And Happy’ His Daughter Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave Is No Longer On RHOBH!

John Mellencamp spoke out about his daughter Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills exit.

“I’m terribly excited and happy that you are no longer part of the Real Housewives,” he told Teddi on the Thursday, November 12, episode of her “Teddi Tea Pod” podcast, according to Us Weekly. “I’ve never liked that you were on the Real Housewives.”

The legendary singer noted that he “tried to be supportive” so he tuned in to see his daughter on the reality show. “But I can assure you, I don’t watch it anymore,” he said.

“I think that it’s great and I think that some of the women on the show are fantastic,” he continued. “But I don’t like people to know where I’m at, I don’t like people to know what I’m doing, I like to have privacy. That’s why I stick around my properties and don’t go anywhere.”

He added: “I don’t want to be a part of where everybody knows everything about everybody … I don’t know how you stood it.”

In September, Teddi confirmed her exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after three seasons. She shared the news via her Instagram, confirming that Bravo did not renew her contract for Season 11.

“Hey guys, just here hanging with baby Dove,” she began in the video clip where she announced her exit from the Bravo hit reality series. “I don’t want to bore you but I figured I got to give you a little update on what’s going on. I recently found out that my contract as a Housewife is not being renewed. Of course, I could give you the standard response of ‘Oh, we both came to the decision that it would be best…’ Nah, I’m not gonna do that. That’s not who I am.”

“Of course, when I got the news I was sad,” she continued. “It feels like a breakup almost because you develop such strong relationships with the cast, with the crew, and you get to do incredible things that you probably never get to experience without, you know, the show. That being said, I’m really looking forward to the future and being able to focus on my family, my friends, All In.”

“I really feel like I have some exciting things ahead and, you know what, I’m pretty busy with this little nugs,” she said as she leaned into her baby. “So thanks for coming along on this journey with me and I’ll see you soon.”

Teddi joined the RHOBH during the show's eighth season in 2018 and stayed on as a full-time cast member for three seasons. Mellencamp is the second Housewife to announce her departure. Earlier this month, Denise Richards announced she was leaving the series. Richards' rep confirmed the news and Andy Cohen revealed that they couldn't come to an agreement over salary negotiations for season 13, which prompted her to quit the series after two seasons.
