Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave Shares Health Update On Her Daughter Dove Following Neurosurgery!

Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave shared a health update on her daughter, Dove. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star took to Instagram to offer an update on her daughter's health after neurosurgery.

“Mom mentioned many of you asking for an update, so I wanted to log on and let you all know I am one tough cookie,” she wrote. “It’s been two and a half months since my surgery and I am feeling good!”

She continued, “Today is the day I get my helmet, so I figured I’d throw on a bow one last time before I rock that new style for the next six months!”

She added, “Thanks for all the well wishes and love sent my way. It’s much appreciated💕🕊 #craniosynostosis #craniowarrior”

In August, Teddi shared the first update from her daughter’s condition following skull surgery.

Teddi shared a black-and-white photo of the proud mom feeding Baby Dove as she looked right into the camera with her head bandaged up.

In another photo taken at the hospital, Mellencamp gave an update on her girl across a photo of herself lying in a bed with the emphasis on her cup of coffee.

“Long night for my angel baby but wow she is so strong and resilient. Love her so much,” she wrote.

She also shared a heartfelt clip of Dove all bandaged up as she made cute baby noises that elicited a big beaming smile from her daughter.

Following the surgery, Mellencamp took her Instagram Story to thank everyone for the prayers and reveal that “Baby Dove had a successful surgery.”

“So much gratitude to her amazing surgeons Dr. Danielpour and Dr. Urata and all the loving nurses that will continue to help us care for her as she recovers. We are forever grateful,” she added, according to The Daily Mail.

In July, Teddi revealed that Dove needed to undergo neurosurgery for Lambdoid Craniosynostosis. “Dealing with anxiety, especially when in the “public eye,” isn’t easy; and going into July it’s at an all-time high,” Teddi captioned a Monday, July 6, Instagram photo of her daughter.

“I was torn as to whether I should share this information, but as someone who tries to be as transparent as possible, and knowing I have a platform to reach others in similar situations, I would like to update you all. Our sweet baby Dove was diagnosed with Lambdoid Craniosynostosis and has to undergo neurosurgery at the end of the month, she continued. “We are so grateful to have an amazing team of doctors and surgeons who have caught this early and will be working on her. Originally, like Cruz before her, we thought Dove had Torticollis and would likely need a doc band for re-shaping.”

“Instead a CT scan showed Lambdoid Craniosynostosis (Lambdoid craniosynostosis is a very rare type of non-syndromic craniosynostosis and occurs when one of the lambdoid sutures at the back of the head fuses before birth). The recovery is about a week in the hospital and a couple weeks at home with a very high success rate. So although we are filled with nerves as neurosurgery sounds scary, we have our faith that she will be ok.”

She added, “Please keep baby Dove in your prayers and if you have had a child with this same surgery, please let me know below, as I would love any additional insight and support. Sending 💕 to you all.”

According to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Lambdoid Craniosynostosis refers to the premature fusion of the bones in an infant’s skull. It can cause issues with the child’s appearance and brain development complications.

Teddi and husband Edwin Arroyave welcomed Dove in February. The couple are also parents to 7-year-old daughter Slate and 5-year-old son Cruz. Mellencamp is also a stepmom to Arroyave’s daughter Isabella.
