Elizabeth Lyn Vargas took to her Instagram Stories to respond to the criticism she faced for coming to Kelly Dodd’s defense over her controversial COVID-19 comments. The Real Housewives of Orange County star explains in a series of videos why she defended Dodd.
“I wanted to take a moment to respond to some of the negative reactions I received this weekend in regarding one of my posts with Kelly,” she began. “I know she can be very controversial at times and I know that a lot of people agree with her point of view and it’s understandable.”
“But I still stand by my friends,” she said. “We all have our own opinions, I have mine. I respect their opinions, they respect mine. I support freedom of speech, that’s what makes America great.”
She continued, “I believe that everyone should be able to share their thoughts, their ideas and opinions without fear. Sharing your thoughts and ideas and opinions without fear is so vital for the stability for our country. I want people to express themselves, stand up for what you believe in, speak your mind, and all of the haterade that I received, I respect your opinions. I do. And I listened to every single one of them.”
“I respect all of your opinions and I just hope that when you listen to other people voicing what they believe in — you don’t judge them, you love them for having their own mind and their own thoughts and opinions, so that’s all I had to say.”
She added, “I understand why everyone’s mad about Kelly — and no I was not drunk,” Elizabeth clarified about her first video she shared over the weekend. “I just woken up to a ton of emails and had to respond but yeah, that’s what I wanted to say.”
She concluded the clip by laughing and saying, “I love everybody anyway, even though I’m getting tons of hate right now.”
