Andy Cohen Opens Up About Hosting ‘The Real Housewives’ Reunions And Praises ‘The Real Housewives Of Melbourne’; Says “I’ve Heard Great Things About Melbourne And Would Love To Get Involved”

While promoting his late-night talk show, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in Australia, Andy opened up about hosting the Bravo reunion shows, in particular, the Real Housewives franchise.

“I actually think being an active executive producer on the show just prepares me for what happens live,” Cohen told The Morning Show. “I have a really good sense of what the viewers are thinking and the questions they want answered.”

“I certainly have a natural curiosity about what’s going on with the women, so I take it and run with it,” he said. “It’s a long day of shooting though, I will tell you that.”

While Cohen has no involvement with the Australian installments of the Real Housewives series, he praised the RHOMelbourne and admitted that he would be keen to get involved.

“I’ve heard great things about Melbourne and would love to get involved,” Cohen said. “But my cup is runneth over, as you can imagine.”

As for hosting his show, WWHL, Andy said, “We consider it a victory when somebody new comes, a big name that we haven’t had yet,” Cohen said.

“I do think people are scared (because) we’re the only live late-night show in America, and I have a reputation of ‘going there’, and I do.”

Cohen also sounded off how his show was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. “We had just announced that we were going to be doing Watch What Happens Live from my home in the city - and that afternoon, I got a result back that I was positive,” Cohen said.

He added, “I suspected that I could be, and I was, and so I was out of the game for a few weeks - and we’re doing the show from the Hamptons now for the rest of the summer.”
