Along with Ward and Bardsley, other celebs battling for a spot are Coronation Street's Sally Dyvenor, Hollyoaks' Carley Stenson, Celebrity Gogglebox's Mark 'Bez' Berry, Emmerdale's Samantha Giles, Corrie's Sally Whittaker, Alex Fletcher (Brookside), West End star Jodie Prenger, Jake Canuso (Benidorm), and Emmerdale's Joe-Warren Plant and Alex Lincoln.
The series is set to premiere in January 2021 but producers seemed keen to form their line-up so the stars would have time to learn basic skating skills over winter.
Dawn was seen wearing leather leggings and a cream slogan jumper to the auditions. Meanwhile, Tanya was wearing patterned leggings with a neon gym top.
Sources have revealed that ITV is making a concerted effort to increase diversity within its cast.
"ITV wants to make sure Dancing On Ice is fully representative. It’s one of its biggest shows and it’s important it is diverse and inclusive," a source told The Sun. "They are currently screen-testing black skaters but have yet to settle on someone who they think will slip into the team seamlessly."
"It’s not long until the show starts recording and a decision will have to be made, the source added. "Bosses feel it is a natural step after having Ian 'H' Watkins dancing with Matt Evers."
