Jill Zarin Explains Why She Believes ‘The Real Housewives’ Franchise May Be In Jeopardy Due To COVID-19 Pandemic!

Jill Zarin recently appeared on David Yontef's podcast, Behind the Velvet Rope, where the Real Housewives of New York City alum explained why she believes the global pandemic may jeopardize the Real Housewives franchise.

Zarin believes that the stars in the franchise may get a pay cut and the network may cancel their infamous lavish cast trips due to COVID-19.

"I think they're [Bravo] going to take this opportunity to cut because I don't know if they can afford to keep paying the salaries they're paying when they're, you know, losing viewers to Netflix and losing viewers, you know, to different avenues," Zarin said, according to The Sun.

"And um, and they're not going to be able to do the trips and all that because the COVID, you know, it's just changed everything."

"So I don't know if they're going to be able to make the same money as they were. I'm not the only one to think that," she continued. "I think that some of the Housewives have actually said that!"

"Look what happened with Tamra and Vicki wasn’t that over money? I thought that was over money."

Bravo recently addressed filming concerns after production resumed for upcoming new seasons of The Real Housewives of Orange County and The Real Housewives of Dallas.

"The Real Housewives of Dallas recently resumed production with a comprehensive health and safety plan," a spokesperson from Bravo wrote in a statement via the Dallas Observer. "The plan was developed in accordance with CDC guidance, all state and local orders, as well as NBCUniversal’s own safety guidelines. The health and safety of the cast and crew is the priority of Bravo for all of its shows."

Meanwhile, it's been confirmed that the cast of RHOC is currently filming cast trip for the show's fifteenth season. The network also addressed the topic as they revealed that the show is following the necessary safety guidelines.

"The Real Housewives of Orange County recently resumed production with a comprehensive health and safety plan," a rep for the network confirmed to Page Six. "The plan was developed in accordance with CDC guidance, all state and local orders, as well as NBCUniversal’s own safety guidelines. The health and safety of the cast and crew is the priority of Bravo for all of its shows."
