Tinsley Mortimer Explains Why Her RHONY Departure Was “Inevitable”

Tinsley Mortimer is opening up about her departure from The Real Housewives of New York City. If you recall, the socialite quit the Bravo hit reality series midseason after she decided to move to Chicago to be with her now-fiancé Scott Kluth.

Mortimer recently reflected her departure from the Bravo reality show as "inevitable."

"My goal obviously is to full time be in Chicago and be with him and you know have a life in Chicago with him," she told E! News. "Look, the show is The Real Housewives of New York City and I will be living in Chicago full time," Tinsley admitted. "So I guess it's sort of inevitable that I, you know, that I won't be a New York housewife anymore."

Mortimer took to Instagram after her final episode aired to thanks the fans, Bravo, and the production company, Shed Media for supporting her during her time on the Bravo hit reality show as she confirmed her exit from the series.

During Thursday’s episode, viewers watched Tinsley pack up and leave New York to move to Chicago to be with her now-fiancé, Scott Kluth.

“I, of course, am going to miss my new friendship with Leah and Sonja’s crazy antics with me,” Tinsley said in her final confessional. “I have changed so much since coming back to New York and moving into Sonja’s townhouse. … It’s taken me a little bit of time, but I finally feel like myself again. I feel confident again.”

“I don’t think any of it would have happened without all the little bumps along the way,” she admitted on Thursday’s episode. “Thank you mugshot, thank you Sonja, thank you townhouse, thank you everybody else I met along the way. It’s been a great ride and I’m just so happy with where I am right now and so excited for my future.”

Tinsley joined the cast of RHONY during the show's ninth season, which aired in 2017. Tinsley and Scott got engaged in November 2019 and have been living together in Chicago ever since.
