On April 6, Andy Cohen announced that the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion for Season 12 will be filmed virtually after it was postponed due to coronavirus (COVID-19). Today, Andy shared an update on the morning of filming.
“Normally, I start this day at a hotel in Atlanta, with a full breakfast. Instead, I’m home,” he said in a video from the closet of his West Village home, according to Bravo's The Daily Dish. Andy also shared that he will be dressed differently for this reunion by not wearing pants.
“I will be wearing a suit... but I think I’ll wear a suit and sweats or just boxers, because who is going to see? That’s my plan. I’d love to just stay in this comfy robe, if you want to know the truth,” he said.
Andy also explained that after two days of tech rehearsals, he’s keeping his fingers crossed for the best outcome possible. “I don’t know, I’m praying for the best,” he said. “I think it’s going to be a very long day. The women have been champs. It’s like doing the Super Bowl on Zoom. But, better a Super Bowl on Zoom than no Super Bowl at all is how I view it.”
Many of the show's cast members took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes photos of the taping, which took place on Thursday, April 23.
Kenya Moore shared a photo of her getting glammed up prior to filming.
Kandi shared a photo of her heels while filming the reunion, along with the caption, "I hate reunions."
A screen of the virtual reunion went viral on social media, where it shows where the ladies would have been sitting if the reunion didn't have to be filmed online due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Kenya, Kandi Burruss, and Eva Marcille appear on the left side while Andy Cohen appears to be in the center. Meanwhile, on the right side, we have NeNe Leakes, Porsha Williams, and Cynthia Bailey.
It seems that Yovanna Momplaisir is also making an appearance at the reunion, by sharing her glammed up look with the caption, "Let's clear the air."
Meanwhile, out friends over at @housewivesofatl shared a video on Instagram where it appears that NeNe is going off about the RHOA reunion drama and hints that Marlo Hampton got into it with someone at the virtual taping.
