RHONY Friend Elyse Slaine Sets The Record Straight About Her Past Lawsuits!

Elyse Slaine is setting the record straight about her controversial past. Slaine, who will make several appearances on the current season of The Real Housewives of New York City, is breaking her silence for the first time on David Yontef’s Behind The Velvet Rope podcast.

Despite what the press has stated in the past, Elyse is addressing the debacle over her apartment. She explained that she signed a contract on her current palatial Park Avenue apartment with her then-boyfriend, Hedge Fund Honcho, Donald Drapkin. The two were going to split the cost but broke up a few days before closing. As specified in her lawsuit, which is public record, Slaine decided to buy the apartment on her own, paying for it in full.

The co-op lagged in getting Drapkin’s name off the co-op share document. A legal contract between Elyse and Drapkin was signed, specifying that Elyse owned the apartment in full, and Drapkin had no rights to the apartment. Unfortunately, he passed away before the co-op's paperwork to transfer the title was completed. Drapkin's children then attempted a "shakedown”  in order to remove Drapkin’s name from the contract. Within days of filing her lawsuit, Elyse stated that the Drapkin estate signed over the apartment and paid her legal fees.

Another topic that Slaine is addressing is the legal drama with her former housekeeper. Elyse's lawsuit with her former housekeeper states that not only was the housekeeper's overtime claim bogus, but she claims that the housekeeper stole in excess of $50,000, and partnered with anti-Semitic groups to harass Elyse and her family.  Elyse explained during her appearance on the pop culture podcast that she had two affidavits from fellow housekeepers who confirmed that this Housekeeper was lying about her overtime claim.

Elyse comes from humble beginnings in Brooklyn. Elyse settled in NYC’s UES shortly after school and began a career in Mortgaged Back Securities and Financial Trading. Elyse, who is close friends with Ramona Singer reveals how she was "accidentally" cast on  RHONY and opens up about her relationships with former cast members Aviva Drescher, Bethenny Frankel, Heather Thomson, Jill Zarin as well as current cast members Dorinda Medley, Leah McSweeney, and Sonja Morgan and much more.

During last week's episode of RHONY, she found herself in a heated argument with Sonja Morgan after Slaine called her a trophy wife, which caused a drunken Sonja to have a meltdown over the claim.

Back in 2010, Elyse made headlines for her split with David Slaine, who worked undercover as an informant for the FBI from 2007 to 2009 to help the agents build cases against several people for insider trading. She was profiled by The Observer for a piece titled “The Wall Street Ex-Wives Club” at the time, reports the publication.
