When one fan commented about the new premiere date after it was previously announced that RHOP would be returning for Season 5 on May 3, Andy explained why it is "a smart decision." "The virus has shifted production schedules for all our shows," he tweeted. "There are currently two great Housewives series running. Would rather have fresh content later than none."
So how did the cast members of RHOP reacted to the news? All the ladies such as Ashley Darby, Gizelle Bryant, and Karen Huger shared the same statement on social media, writing, "#RHOP fans: due to these unprecedented times, we have to push the new season until the summer. "However, when we say it will be worth the wait, we MEAN IT! Thank you for your continued love and support. Stay healthy and stay safe! We’ll be in touch with a new date ASAP"
Robyn Dixon added, "Please don’t shoot the messenger!!! As part of the @bravotv family, we are all in this together! A little sacrifice will go a long way 🌸🌸🌸."
Meanwhile, Candiace Dillard Bassett wrote, "🌸Sigh. I know. This is a blow to us all. Our air date has been postponed until this summer, guys. BUT when it comes, it will STILL give you EVERYTHING you have been wanting and MORE. So many surprises. Shockers. Shifts. Rifts (Tuh). It’s allllllllll going to be worth the wait!!! I would not lie to you."
New cast member Wendy Osefo, she wrote, "Chillle!!! The rona’ is snatching everyone’s edges!! While, we have to wait until the summer to premiere, TRUST ME it will be worth the wait— friendships, drama, scandal, and sisterhood — EVERYTHING you can imagine and MORE!!! In the process, Samuels threw major shade at Candiace and Gizelle by scratching them out of the RHOP promo photo.
We have to wait a few more weeks (or months) y'all," she added in her post while crossing out Gizelle and Candiace's faces in the RHOP Season 5 cast photo.
