The ‘Real Housewives’ Franchise May Expand In South Africa To Durban Following The Success Of The Real Housewives Of Johannesburg!

After two successful seasons of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg, 1Magic is considering expanding the Real Housewives franchise in South Africa, as reports are claiming that the city of Durban could be the next installment.

All4Women reports that Phil Mphela, who is a reliable entertainment journalist, shared the news on Twitter.

“WORD IS: Real Housewives of Durban coming soon,” he tweeted. “The murmur is that, following the success of the Joburg seasons, the company behind the local production of this Bravo franchise is now expanding the show to Durban. I love the idea. I’m in.”

The Real Housewives of Johannesburg made its debut in August 2018. The first series consisted of six ladies: Brinnette Seopela, Christall Kay, mother and daughter, Evodia and Mercy Mogase, Lendy Ter Mors and Naledi Willers.

However, the series returned for a second season with a major cast shakeup - Seopela and Kay were the two only original cast members that returned to the series. They were joined by new cast members Lebo JoJo Gunguluza, Lethabo Mathatho, Mpho Merriweather, Mpumi Mophatlane and Tarina Patel.

It was revealed in November 2019 that Evodia "Madam" and Mercy Mogase were getting their own spin-off series. According to SowetanLIVE, the mother-daughter duo's reality show will be about their lavish lifestyle and will be broadcast of Mzansi Magic under the title Madam and Mercy. No airdate for the show has been set yet.
