Carole Radziwill Denies Ever Being Friends With Andy Cohen And Denies Ever Being Close Friends With Tinsley Mortimer; Says “They Twisted It Into Something That It Really Wasn’t”

Carole Radziwill recalls how she ended up becoming a cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City. Carole made it clear that she and Cohen were never friends, claiming that they only knew each other through mutual friends.

During an episode of the Juicy Scoop With Heather McDonald podcast, Heather McDonald asked, “How did the show come about for you?” Carole began, “I wasn’t friends with any of them and I know now that they cast it more.”

“Back in Season 5, I think they were firing like four of the women and Andy was looking for women to take their place and I knew him. The idea that Andy and I were like BFF’s was a manufactured idea in the press and it kind of took on a life of its own.”

Carole continued, “Andy and I knew each other for a long time through mutual friends. We had really good mutual friends. I never had dinner alone with Andy. To be honest, when I went to this dinner with our mutual friends and he mentioned ‘Would I do the show?’ I didn’t even know he had a show. I knew he had a talk show, but I had never seen the show.”

“I didn’t watch any Housewives,” she said, according to Reality Tea. “I knew Andy had a talk show and I didn’t know where the women were coming from that were on the talk show all the time.”

She added,“Listen, at that point, there weren’t that many [Real Housewives shows]. And it was only four seasons. It wasn’t as big of a deal.”

Radziwill also shared an update on her relationship with former co-star Tinsley Mortimer.

“I haven’t heard from Tinsley since the day we taped the reunion,” she said.

When discussing Carole’s comment about never being close with Mortimer, McDonald remarked, “The audience saw that as being kind of rude to Tinsley,” she told Radziwill, according to Reality Tea.

But, Carole insisted, “Yeah, she was playing up to it. She didn’t want to say that what Bethenny was saying wasn’t really true.” Carole also said, “I was just being honest and they twisted it into something that it really wasn’t.”

Carole insisted that she and Mortimer were never close friends despite what was portrayed on RHONY.

“We were working together and filming together.  I didn’t know her that well. I mean, I liked her. And I happened to fix her up with a guy [now fiance Scott Kluth] that I knew. I did some commercials with her, but that was it.”

Carole said, “When we stopped filming I never heard from her, the first season [or] the second season. We just went off and did our own thing.”

Carole continued, “She hasn’t called me since, so I was fucking right.”

Carole added, “She didn’t call me when I left the the show. She didn’t call me when my mother passed away. I have not heard from her, which is fine. I’m not sitting around waiting for a phone call nor do I expect one. What I was saying is obviously the truth.”
