“I am going to be laid up for a while,” he said in a video that showed him sitting in the hospital and wearing a brace on each of his legs, along with a walker in front of him.
“I came home late one day, and I didn’t do the dishes, and the next thing you know, Dolores throws me down the stairs,” Frank joked about his injuries.
“Tell the truth, Frank,” Dolores chimed in before he revealed, “I fell.”
Dolores told Page Six earlier this week that the accident occurred on Monday, and Frank was slated to have “emergency surgery” on Wednesday. Dolores and Frank also confirmed he would be having surgery on Wednesday in her Instagram Story.
“This will be the first time Frank is physically defeated,” Dolores told Page Six. “He’s going to lose his muscles for the first time in his life. Those huge, big legs. Those 20-inch arms. How is Frank mentally going to handle this? What defined him was his body and working out.”
The Bravo reality star also revealed that her current boyfriend, David Principe will keep an eye on Frank as he recovers.
“David will stay in the hospital with him overnight until he goes in for surgery,” she said. “I’m probably going to have to take care of him until he can walk again.”
Catania also reveals the reason why her son Frankie is not dating Teresa Giudice's daughter Gia, despite being her prom date, which was seen during this week's episode of the Bravo hit reality series.
Dolores said that Gia and Frankie are not in a relationship because the “timing is not right,” she told the publication.
“Frankie is very conscious of the fact that because of the line of work that he is going into — investment banking — that’s 16 hours a day … he can’t give a girl what she needs right now,” said Dolores.
However, she revealed that her 21-year-old son still thinks Gia, 19, is “the most beautiful girl” and feels “so lucky that she would even look at him.”
Dolores said Frankie and Gia started crushing on each other when her son walked shirtless in Melissa Gorga’s fashion show for her Envy clothing store earlier in 2019.
“They grew up together,” Dolores said. “[There’s an] episode where they were carving pumpkins on Jaqueline [Laurita’s] steps together. They’ve always kind of watched out for each other.”
“I think the fashion show was a very pivotal moment for them,” she continued, adding that Gia’s reaction to Frank’s shirtless runway walk was “all real.”
While Frankie and Gia are not dating, Dolores revealed that her son recently adopted a dog.
“Frankie is single,” Dolores told Page Six. “Frankie is so single that he just adopted an old dog from a shelter because he was so lonely.”
Dolores said Frank’s rescue dog belonged to a man who passed away and didn’t have any surviving relatives left to care for the pet.
“It’s not fair for me to have a girlfriend because I don’t have time for her, so I want an older dog just to spend time with me in my apartment,” Dolores son apparently told her.
Dolores said she and Teresa are both still holding out hope that Frankie and Gia will end up together “down the road,” adding that the moms both agree that “timing is everything.”
