Sources Reveal The Reason Vicki Gunvalson Was Demoted And Her RHOC Season 14 Salary Revealed!

Vicki Gunvalson's socking demotion was announced when Bravo revealed the official lineup for Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Now, a source is sharing details about one of the reasons why the OG of the OC lost her full-time position.

“The network wants to skew younger,” the source said about the move to make Vicki, 57, just a friend of the show. According to the insider, Vicki’s negotiations for the season were met with resistance from the network.

“She was never offered a full-time housewife position,” the source told Radar Online. “They told her she could prove herself, but just an engagement won’t save you. Although that’s what she pitched to them.”

“She will continue to appear on the show as a friend for seasons to come because she’s a household name. No one sees the network making her a main cast member again. Unless the season completely tanks.”

Also, part of her demoted means that she allegedly took a major salary cut on her whopping $1 million salary, reports the outlet.

According to an insider Vicki will be going from earning $60,000 per episode to only $20,000.

“With her $60,000 per episode before this, her ‘RHOC’ salary was approximately $1.26 million,” the source told Radar Online, noting that even if “The OG from the OC” appeared in all 21 episodes of Season 14 of the Bravo hit, she would earn $420,000 total — a far cry from her former salary.

“A new Housewife begs for $5,000 an episode, so for Vicki to be getting that much she is very lucky,” said the source. “Vicki likely won’t be in all of the episodes this season,” the insider said.
