Scheana Shay Is Recovering After Undergoing A Second Egg Retrieval!

Scheana Shay underwent a second egg retrieval on Wednesday, July 24 as she continues the process of freezing her eggs. The Vanderpump Rules star shared a photo of herself after the procedure on Instagram on Wednesday.

The photo showed her in a hospital bed at the Southern California Reproductive Center with Dr. Shahin Ghadir, who viewers might recognize him as being Mercedes "MJ" Javid's fertility doctor on Shahs of Sunset.

"Thank you to the most amazing fertility doctor ever for making this such a great experience [the] second time around. [Dr. Ghadir] and [the Southern California Reproductive Center] have been absolutely incredible throughout this journey for me," Scheana wrote in the post. "Second round was successful but I don’t have all of the info yet on how many mature eggs we got."

Scheana added that she will share an update on how many mature eggs they were able to retrieve soon. Dr. Ghadir noted in his Instagram Story that Scheana "did amazing" during the egg retrieval.

Scheana's mom, Erika van Olphen also gave an update on her daughter's condition following her second egg retrieval via her Instagram Story that "everything went great" and that she is "now home and resting!"

Scheana first shared that she was in the process of freezing her eggs in December 2018, reports Bravo's The Daily Dish. She underwent her first egg retrieval in January of this year where they were able to retrieve 12 eggs, nine of which were mature. "For me personally, this has been a very easy, painless and awesome experience. Everyone is different I’m sure. I am single and [nowhere] near trying to have a baby. So for me - yes, this was an easy process and when I say painless, I’m referring to the needles which I have no problem with," Scheana shared on Instagram after the first procedure. "My doctor highly recommended for me to do this to have a better chance at a healthy baby down the road. I have learned so much about fertility and everything that goes into freezing eggs and IVF. You never know what will happen in life."
