Lala Kent And Dorinda Medley Weigh In On Luann de Lesseps’ Sobriety!

Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent recently shares her thoughts on Luann de Lesseps' sobriety struggles after The Real Housewives of New York City star was ordered into custody by a judge on Thursday, May 23, for violating her probation.

Kent addressed the cabaret performer’s current legal woes on her Instagram Stories on Thursday by sharing the brutal realities of maintaining sobriety.

“My heart goes out to my fellow Bravo family member,” she wrote in the post, which featured a solo shot of de Lesseps, according to Us Weekly. “Sobriety isn’t something that can be conquered. We are human and it is a day to day struggle.”

Kent ended her message by saying that de Lesseps will “be back on her feet in no time.”

Meanwhile, de Lesseps' co-star Dorinda Medley opened up about Lu's recent sobriety and legal struggles. Medley revealed that Lu would benefit from making an adjustment to her lifestyle.

“I think Luann needs to quiet her life and really make it all about her being healthy,” she told Us Weekly. “You know, sometimes you have to really accept that you have to stop and reset and I think she’s trying to do too much, too fast and I’m hoping that she’ll just take this time to just focus solely on herself and be quiet.”

Last week, de Lesseps was ordered into custody by a Palm Beach County court judge for alleged probation violations, reports PEOPLE. The cabaret singer was briefly handcuffed before being released.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, de Lesseps admitted to violating her probation, and the judge added new terms to her probation, which is scheduled to end on August 28. Now, the Bravo reality star must call into weekly counseling sessions, attend monthly psychiatric sessions, and keep a breathalyzer in her car.

“These reports are false,” she told PEOPLE in a statement, referring to reports that she would return to jail. “I’m glad the judge was understanding once made aware of the evidence provided and I was then released. I am now looking forward to completing my remaining few months of probation. I want to put this behind me and move forward with my life.”

As previously reported, Luann de Lesseps was accused of violating her probation twice — once by not providing sufficient documentation of completed AA meetings, and by failing an alcohol test in late April, according to court records obtained by PEOPLE courtesy via the Florida Department of Corrections.

The docs stated that de Lesseps “admitted to drinking 2 glasses of mimosas after a performance she had in Chicago” after she failed an alcohol test by a New York Probation Officer on April 21.

In response, the Bravo reality star was “offered to immediately enroll in outpatient treatment and she declined due to her touring schedule,” the documents said. “The subject was also given the option to be fitted with an alcohol ankle monitoring device in which she declined stated that it is too intrusive.”

The documents also note that the cabaret performer had previously violated her probation by failing “to provide sufficient documentation of completed AA meetings” to her West Palm Beach-based probation officer. According to the papers, de Lesseps had only provided documentation from five meetings despite being ordered to go to two per week.

“It appears to affiant that the subject is not serious about her sobriety of the orders of the court,” according to the documents. “In order to effectively address [her] current relapse, de Lesseps has to be ‘available’ to participate.”

Meanwhile, Luann de Lesseps claimed that she is taking the necessary steps to remain sober after admitting to drinking again following her 2017 Palm Beach arrest. “I take my sobriety very seriously and like many in my situation, it is a daily struggle,” de Lesseps tells PEOPLE in a statement. “I remain committed to doing whatever it takes to continue living a healthy sober lifestyle.”
