“Clearing the rumors,” Thomas captioned an Instagram video, according to Page Six. Thomas said he was released from Miami-Dade County jail on Wednesday, March 6 after being taken into custody on Friday, March 1.
Thomas said his arrest involved an incident in which he wrote a check for $4,000 to a talent agency to book a performer for his bar, but his “checking account was compromised” at the time.
“The bank shut it down,” he said. “That means somebody got my debit card number and was using it everywhere.”
He added: “Six days I spent in jail,” said Peter. “[The] ‘celebrity status’ I had made them put me around no one for six days. I don’t wish that on anyone, but I had a lot of time to think, and I had a lot of time to take medication because I’m claustrophobic.”
Meanwhile, Thomas’s attorney, Keith Doley, told E! News, “It was an unfortunate misunderstanding. There was no intent on Mr. Thomas part to not pay. There was a misunderstanding about a performance that didn’t happen. It’s all been resolved.”
