Jeff Lewis Reveals How Gage Edward Reacted To Him Announcing Their Separation!

Last week, Jeff Lewis announced that he and his boyfriend of eight years, Gage Edward have called it quits. The Flipping Out star also revealed that Edward has moved out from their home and is staying at a hotel. Now, Lewis is sharing details how Edward reacted to the news of their separation.

Jeff revealed that Gage came by the house the day of the announcement. "I'll be honest with you. I did talk to Gage yesterday," he revealed during the February 1 episode of Jeff Lewis Live. "He was at the house and we put the baby down together and we talked a little bit in the kitchen before he went back to his hotel room. He said, 'You know, I really feel like by you announcing that, it made things final,'" Jeff shared. "And I said, 'You know, I don't think that it actually made it final. I think every single person we know is hoping for a reconciliation.'"

According to Jeff, just because he and Gage have publicly ended their relationship doesn't mean they can't one day get back together. "I don't think anyone would be upset if we worked it out in a month or two or three or four or five," he said.

Jeff also shared more details  on why he and Gage needed to take a break. "It is called the 'Gage Edward Roller Coaster.' And what happens is, one day, he loves you, the next day, he doesn't. One day, he's attracted to you, the next day he [isn't]. One day he wants to sleep in your room, the next day he doesn't," Jeff explained. "I am a gay human yo-yo, and I'm sick of being a gay yo-yo. I don't want to be a yo-yo anymore. So that's why I got off the 'Gage Edward Roller Coaster.'"

Jeff revealed that one of the reasons they've been staying together was for the sake of their daughter Monroe. When asked by a caller if he and Gage had thought about a custody arrangement for Monroe if they do ultimately break up, Jeff said, "Oh, god, I don't even want to go there. Honestly, I'm hoping that the guy wakes up. I'm hoping that he wakes up. I'm hoping that he sits in that hotel room alone, he misses his family, he misses his life, starts focusing on the positive, and stops focusing on the negative. So let's just pray."

Jeff also admitted that the break up has taken a toll on his body. "I got on the scale today and I have lost a few pounds because of the stress," Jeff revealed during the Thursday January 31 episode of Jeff Lewis Live. And while we never like to see anyone stressed to the point of weight loss, we appreciate Jeff's ability to keep his signature sense of humor in tact amid this difficult time: "I was like 'Oh my god, at least something good can come out of this,'" Jeff joked on the show.
