Madix explained that after years of asking about a mole, she finally went to a dermatologist who removed it, tested it and the results came back as melanoma. She went on to explain that because the mole was close to lymph nodes, according to Bravo's The Daily Dish.

"Then I had to go for a real surgery. And have a giant chunk [removed]. I have a scar I can kind of show you, it's pretty gnarly — and then I have one [scar] down here in my underarm area."
"Everything has come back negative," she said, noting that her life is slightly altered with an standing appointment every six months in which she will see a specialist to "make sure I'm top of everything. Once you have it, it's much easier to have it again or have it throughout your life, especially that I'm young. It's going to be an ongoing thing, but right now I do not have cancer in my body."
