Lisa Vanderpump Opens Up About Brother's Suicide On Season Seven Premiere Episode Of Vanderpump Rules!

During Monday night's episode of the Season 7 premiere of Vanderpump Rules, Lisa Vanderpump returned to SUR for the first time in over a month after she took time to mourn the passing of her brother Mark Vanderpump, who died of a suspected overdose on April 30 at his home in England.

In the episode, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star confirmed that her DJ brother had killed himself.

“It’s been five weeks since my only sibling, my brother who was 16 months older than me, passed away through suicide,” she told the camera, according to PEOPLE. “And for five weeks, I stayed home. Obviously it just being the two of us, we were more like twins. It’s been incredibly difficult, but we have to keep moving forward and make the people that were so important in our lives proud as they watch down over us.”

She added: “It’s hard, like you don’t even want to talk about it. Then when people say, ‘I’m sorry,’ you start to become emotional,” Lisa said.

As we previously reported, The Daily Mail broke the news that Mark's body was discovered at his home in England on April 30. He was 59. Lisa would later confirm her brother's death in a statement to the media outlet.

"This has come as a shock to us all," she explained. "My brother and I had connected the day before this tragedy and I was completely unprepared for this." Lisa continued, "He was my only sibling and I am shocked and saddened by his passing. I am trying to be supportive to his two young sons that he has left behind, and help them get through this tragedy. We appreciate your consideration in this private and extremely difficult family time."
