Gina Kirschenheiter: “I Knew The Other Women Were Going To Be Shocked To Hear Matt And I Were Splitting”

Gina Kirschenheiter is taking to her Bravo Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Gina Kirschenheiter opens up about why she decided to tell her co-stars about her split from husband Matt.

Bravotv.com: Did you expect the other ladies to have such strong opinions about your divorce?
Gina Kirschenheiter: Yes. Fortunately, I am surrounded by the best friends and family in the world. This was obviously not my first conversation with my mother regarding my relationship with Matt. She loves us both. She knows I don’t make rash decisions. She supports me because she knows I would never make a decision that wasn’t in the best interest of my family.

I knew the other women were going to be shocked to hear Matt and I were splitting. But the reality is they don’t know Matt or anything about our relationship, so I was surprised they had such strong opinions about my divorce. I hoped they would just be supportive, but hopefully they will get to a place where they can be.

Bravotv.com: Did their advice give you pause on whether or not you were making the right decision?
GK: Their advice actually made me feel good about my decision. It reassured me that I don’t want to go through what they went through, and that’s why I am doing this now. But I honestly don’t need the peanut gallery to weigh in on my marriage for me to feel confident about what I am doing.
