Bethenny Frankel Reveals How She’s Coping After On-Off Boyfriend Dennis Shields’ Death!

Bethenny Frankel took to Twitter to reveal how she is coping in the wake of her on-off boyfriend Dennis Shields’ death. The Real Housewives of New York City star admitted that while she’s been in tears, “you just have to force yourself to shift.”

“Doing anything in or by the water is life saving. Beach walks. ocean swims, wakeboarding, clamming, infrared sauna, jacuzzi & my swim really help,” she wrote. “When you feel sad, you cry then you just have to force yourself to shift. It’s so hard but it works.”

When a fan pointed out that ocean air is charged with healthy negative ions that have “the ability to trigger a psychological state of calm and contentment” and “can literally wash away the pain,” the Skinnygirl founder replied, “Exactly. I have had trouble breathing and I actually need it. Xo,” according to Us Weekly.

Frankel previously shared an emotional tweet on Twitter, sharing how she has been dealing with the sudden loss of her on-off boyfriend Dennis Shields. "It’s hard to breathe & I appreciate you giving me the space & support to try to do so. It’s excruciating-sudden death is no closure & constant [questions] & memories," she tweeted. "Our relationship is current so it’s painfully raw."

Bethenny added that she's "trying to stay healthy & move through it [with] tears & close friends."

She previously thanked fans for their messages of love and support during this difficult time on Instagram.

As previously reported, the businessman was found dead in his room at New York City’s Trump Tower. Shields was 51. The cause of death is still under investigation, though TMZ reports that he died of a suspected overdose from prescription drugs.

Frankel first broke her silence on the tragedy in an emotional Instagram post with a photo of Shields and her beloved dog, Cookie, who died last October.

“Rest In Peace my sweet babies who gave me endless unconditional love. #nowandforever,” she captioned the photo.
