Real Housewives Of Sydney Star Melissa Tkautz Lands Role In Sleeping Beauty Musical!

Actress and singer Melissa Tkautz is using her talents to use as The Real Housewives of Sydney star has landed a role on the upcoming Sleeping Beauty musical. The Read My Lips singer will play the role of the Good Fairy.

Also joining Melissa will be Rhonda Burchmore as the Bad Fairy, Embla Bishop as Sleeping Beauty and Daniel Milne as Prince Valiant.

Director and producer Bonnie Lythgoe, who has brought to live theater versions of Peter Pan and Cinderella said she was elated with the final cast, and particularly snaring Tkautz.

“I’ve got every single member that I wanted from the start. That’s my A-list, that’s what I wanted, and that’s what I’ve got,” Ms Lythgoe told The Daily Telegraph. “Trying to get the right people is like a jigsaw puzzle, every piece must fit. I am thrilled with Melissa who is just so gorgeous, has a wonderful voice and great acting skills.”

With the cast now finalized, the next big hurdle is a relatively their very short rehearsal period. “Most people have six weeks, and we have less than two weeks,” Ms Lythgoe said. “I’m just looking forward to families coming along and giving them two hours of fantastic enjoyment to put behind all the negativity that happens in our world.”

Sleeping Beauty — A Knight Avenger’s Tale tells the story of Princess Aurora being cursed to 100 years of slumber.

The musical will open in Melbourne on June 29 before playing in Sydney from July 13 to 22.
