Sources reveal that Frankel was in Aspen, Colo., when she learned of Bobby’s death and chartered a private jet back to New York to be there for the funeral. She arrived just before the start of the ceremony at Riverside Memorial Chapel on the Upper West Side, reports Page Six.
Frankel showed up with a camera crew outside the chapel for the Bravo hit reality series.
However, a source close to Jill said that she was aware that Bravo would be filming at the service, adding, “This was all about memorializing Bobby — [there was] no drama. It’s very sad for all. He was an important part of the show and a great friend to many who appeared on it.”
The insider added that Jill believes Bobby would be happy to know that the occasion brought the onetime old friends-turned-nemeses back together.
Zarin and the Skinnygirl founder stopped speaking in 2010 after fights on the show sparked a spiteful feud. But on Monday, they were seen holding hands outside the chapel, and Frankel tweeted, “Today is a sad day with a silver lining. I laughed. I cried. I saw old faces & watched a family come together surrounding a loss. ‘I have a dream’ that Bobby’s death makes us realize what is important & treat each day as our last.”
Jill gave a touching eulogy, calling Bobby “an incredibly great husband, a great father and grandfather, and [a] truly great friend.”
Her sister, Judge Lisa Wexler, said of Jill and Bobby’s 18-year marriage, “He was the ground to her air.”
