"I'm going to be doing Broadway and some other things, and they're going to be doing new music," she told Andy Cohen.
It's now official: Burruss will play Matron "Mama" Morton in Chicago, the longest-running Broadway musical of all time, from January 15 through March 11 at the Ambassador Theatre in New York City.

Burruss reveals how she landed the role of Mama Morton in Chicago. "I changed agents last year, and I said one thing that I really want is to be on the cover of Essence and I want to do Broadway," Kandi told TooFab. "I was auditioning for something else that I had to sing a song for, and I did Mama Morton's song. [My agent] ended up sending [the video] to the 'Chicago' people as well, and they wanted me to come in after seeing it. And from there, I got the part."
"Basically, I'm taking no days off," she said.
So why did she take on the role? "I've always wanted to do Broadway since I was in high school, OK? There was no way I was going to pass up this opportunity."
