Karen Huger Shows Support For Alzheimer's Association!

Karen Huger continues to show support for the Alzheimer's Association. “It was a fabulous evening,” the Real Housewives of Potomac star told Page Six when chatting about a charity dinner she hosted for the Alzheimer’s Association a few weeks back. “I had family and friends that came to raise money for a great cause.”

As you recall, Karen has revealed on the Bravo hit reality series that both of her parents are living with the debilitating disease. She has steadily been involved with the Alzheimer’s Association but upon her parents’ diagnosis she began working closely with the local chapter.

“I need to help, I need to find a cure for this,” she said. “What a wonderful position to be in to raise funds to help others and not just my family but all families.”

Alongside Huger for the night was another reality star, Carson Kressley, who was the MC. “He was amazing,” she said. “He totally set an atmosphere of love and fun and purpose,” which Huger dubbed “a perfect recipe for success.”

The benefit was held in a venue on K Street in Washington, DC, where guests — including the ladies of “RHOP” and Alzheimer’s Association’s local chapter President Chris Brouille  — sipped on CÎROC and DeLeón thanks to the night’s guest speaker, Dia Simms, the president of Combs Enterprises whose family is affected by Alzheimer’s.

She reveals that “it certainly was a blessing to meet Dia. We went from business to bonding simply because we’re in this fight together.”

Acknowledging her job as a “Bravolebrity,” the mom of two said she’s made the conscious decision to use her notoriety for good.

“This platform can bend anyway you want it to,” she told the publication. “I choose it bend it in the good direction.”
