Luann de Lesseps Tells Her Side Of The Story About Her Divorce From Tom D’Agostino On WWHL!

Luann de Lesseps got candid about her split from Tom D'Agostino during a one-on-one special episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. The Real Housewives of New York City star shared her side of the story about her divorce and reveals why she avoided all the "red flags" and more!

Luann addressed the speculation that Tom had cheated on her during Watch What Happens Live One-on-One with Luann de Lesseps Wednesday night. Though Luann always stood by her man amid the gossip, she revealed to Andy Cohen what finally made her think differently.

"It was constant. It didn't stop. It was like every week the same thing, and it was like, 'I can't do this anymore,'" she explained. "I don't think that he could really give up his bachelor life to lead a married life the way I wanted to."

Still, Luann said that she believed Tom really did want to be married to her. "I think that he really loved me. I really do. And he still loves me," she said. "At this age, it's really hard to change people, and of course, I said to him, 'Don't go to the Regency.' And he was not gonna change his lifestyle. Yes, he did. And it was a problem to me. I just expected more. I expected things to change."

Luann went on to say that she doesn't believe that Tom and Missy were more than just friends. However, she admitted that she should have seen "the big red flag" of that photo of Tom kissing another woman that Bethenny Frankel showed her last season of RHONY.

"But I loved him, and I chose to forgive him. I thought, 'If you can't forgive the people you love, then who can you forgive?'" she shared. "And I know that it wasn't an affair. It wasn't an affair; it was a kiss. It wasn't right, but I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt. But looking back, it's a major character flaw."

Then, Lu revealed whether she would care about what happens "after Lu," such as if Tom began dating Missy now. "I'm trying to move forward, and of course, it would be uncomfortable if he started to date one of the girls that the girls have been warning me about on the show," she said. "So it would be uncomfortable, that's for sure."

Lu addressed several rumors surrounding her relationship during the special, one of which was that she and Tom had broken up a few times during the course of their marriage. "Yes, we had a couple of bouts," Luann told Andy Cohen. "And it happens. You know, couples argue, especially passionate ones."

When Andy said that something like that "doesn't typically happen" in relationships, Luann agreed. "No, not that soon," she said. "I know."

Luann said that she and Tom had not, however, been fighting around the time of the wedding, as some reports speculated. Luann said that "things were good" after their wedding. She admits it was only the last couple of months of their marriage that the couple began to have problems.

Though Luann said that she still "had hope" that she could repair her relationship when she sat down with the other RHONY ladies during this season's reunion in July she said she "was suffering."

"I wasn't great at the reunion, because we had had a fight the weekend before, and we stayed at the hotel," she explained. "I was at the reunion and standing by my husband because I respect him. No matter what happened, I respect him, I respect our marriage. So still at the moment, I was hoping that we could work it out."

Another rumor that Lu addressed was the one where she was spotted out "flirting or canoodling" with Scott Disick shortly after the divorce filing.

"Me?" The Real Housewives of New York City mom said when he asked her the question. "No. We were at the same restaurant but there was no canoodling going on," she clarified, before commenting on his "Lord Disick" nickname: "Yeah, but he's not a real lord."

Following her split from Tom, Andy asks Lu if she will ever go back to the Regency? The famed NYC hot spot has sort of left a bad taste in Luann's mouth. As you might recall, it is the place that Tom D'Agostino kissed another woman shortly after he became engaged to Luann. And it remained a place he went back to, even after that event.

"I said to him 'Don't go to The Regency' and he was not gonna change his lifestyle," The Real Housewives of New York City mom revealed to Andy Cohen during a special one-on-one sit-down with him on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, which aired earlier this week. "Yes, he did [go back] and it was a problem for me. I expected more; I expected it to change."

Luann does have a good sense of humor about the whole thing, even as she pledged to "not really" ever go back there again. With a chuckle she added, "Sorry, I had to make light of that 'cause it's just too funny."

While, many past and current Housewives reached out to Luann following her divorce announcement, Luann said Carole Radziwill was the only co-star she didn't hear from. Though Luann received some sweet messages from many of the RHONY ladies, she's hoping she doesn't hear one thing from them, given all of the controversy surrounding their relationship. "Listen, I've been through a lot. The last thing I want to hear from them is, 'Told you so!'" Luann told Andy. "I hope I don't have to hear that. An apology [from me]? Maybe not, but I wish I would have listened is more."

Shortly after Luann announced her divorce from Tom D'Agostino, she shared that she would once again be using her married name from her relationship with first husband, Count Alexandre de Lesseps. Lu revealed that she actually had never formally even changed her last name to D'Agostino.

"Well I never officially changed my name. I hadn't gotten around to it," she confirmed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

As for her title of countess, which she presumably lost after marrying Tom last December, she explained where things currently stand with that as well. "Well I'm Luann de Lesseps and The Countess is always going to be a part of me," she said. "Now I have my bedding collection coming out. And it's a brand that I own. Like Queen Latifah, is she really queen? I mean, right? So it's part of me and I was a countess. So it's a brand that I own as Luann de Lesseps."

In conclusion, Luann thinks it's unfair the blame Tom 100% for the divorce, as she says "it takes two" and believes that Tom was faithful to her despite making "wrong choices" on RHONY.
