Lydia McLaughlin: “Meghan’s Sip And See Is An Awkward Step In The Right Direction”

Lydia McLaughlin is taking to her Bravo Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Lydia McLaughlin talks about planning the launch party for Nobleman Magazine and explains why Meghan's sip and see event was "an awkward step in the right direction."

Lydia writes:

"This week you see Doug and I planning for the launch party for the spring issue of Nobleman Magazine. We were so proud to have an exclusive interview with Matt Damon, and the photos of him are amazing. All of the content for the issue is very uplifting, and we are so excited to share with you our hard work. Check out more info and exclusive videos of our events at noblemanmagazine.com.

Putting a magazine together is hard work, but so is planning a party! We want to really make a splash with every event we do. The right mix of people celebrating and the venue all need to come together. Every party we host has a different vibe as we always want to create a new experience and memory for our friends and clients.

The sip and see event couldn't have come at a better time for me personally. Of course I wanted all the ladies to come to my Nobleman event, but I wanted to make sure they could all be in the same room without causing a scene. As we see from the episode, there are a lot of hurt feelings and emotions going on, but at least no plates were thrown! Because of this, I felt comfortable inviting all the ladies to my Nobleman event. I wanted them to share a special night with Doug and me and see what I pour a lot of my time and energy into.

Aspen is seriously the happiest baby. She is so full of joy, and I couldn't be happier for Meghan and Jim. Of course I was anticipating Tamra and Vicki speaking and seeing each other for the first time. There wasn't a hug, but I still have hope for their friendship to be restored.

I was happy to see the whole issue of the Quiet Woman and me inviting Kelly being addressed again. I didn't feel like the whole story was told, as I did tell Tamra and Shannon I had invited Kelly and never was trying to be secretive about that (note the beach flashback). However, I never invited Kelly thinking it would explode the way it did. I told Tamra and Shannon I had invited Kelly, but she had told Peggy and me she had made plans and was on a boat with some of her out-of-town friends. It was never my intention to cause drama and when Kelly walked in, I was just as surprised as everyone. I am glad Tamra says she knows my heart and believes that I just didn't know all the history between everyone, because that is the truth.

Hopefully next week everyone will get along and our Nobleman event is a success. I would say Meghan's sip and see is an awkward step in the right direction for these friendships to repair... I suppose time will tell."
