Rica Famosa Latina Season 5 Finally Gets A Premiere Date And The Real Reason Why Geraldine Bazán Quit The Show Revealed!

This week, Estrella TV officially revealed the premiere date of upcoming new season of Rica, Famosa, Latina. The fifth season of the Spanish hit reality series will premiere on Monday, September 18 at 7:00pm on Estrella TV.

The network took to social media to announce the big news on Twitter.

As we previously reported, returning for Season 5 are Luzelba Mansour, Niurka Marcos and Sandra Vidal, who will be joined by four new cast members: Mimí Lazo, Ninette Rios, Patricia de Leon and Scarlet Ortiz.

As we previously reported, Geraldine Bazán, who is an actress and wife of actor Gabriel Soto was rumored to join the fifth season, however when the cast was officially revealed last month, she was nowhere to be found. Now it's been reported that the reason she went MIA was becasue she quit the show.

Apparently, her departure from the show traces back to the whole Marjorie de Sousa and Gabriel Soto rumored fling. According to Diario Basta, Bazán got upset that the other girls kept bringing up the drama between her husband and De Sousa as "she was not up for having her family exposed with rumors that affected her relationship." Producers reportedly met with Geraldine to come up with a resolution, but she opted to quit the show. There's no word if the scenes she shot with Niurka Marcos will air or if they would be cut completely, reports Latin Times.

In case you were living under a rock, former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Joyce Giraud along with her husband Michael Ohoven created the Spanish hit reality show after exiting the Bravo hit show.

As you noticed, the show is inspired by the Real Housewives franchise - the only difference is that the show is in Spanish and the show airs weeknights (Monday through Thursdays), making each season over 30 episodes.

Giraud doesn't appear on the show - she and her hubby are the creators and her hubby is the executive producer of the successful Spanish hit reality series. Rica, Famosa, Latina translates to Rich, Famous, Latina!

The show focuses on the lives of successful and famous Latin women living in Los Angeles, where the glamour and the drama collide.

Season 1 - 4 are available to view via streaming service Hulu!
