Earlier this year it was officially confirmed by Bravo that Vanderpump Rules star Jax Taylor his girlfriend Brittany Cartwright were getting their own show. This week, the network finally revealed the premiere date of the new series, which kicks off on Wednesday, August 23 at 9pm ET/PT. The couple head to Kentucky to spend some time on Brittany's family farm on the upcoming series, Vanderpump Rules: Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky.

As seen in the trailer, Jax gets so into farm life that he rocks overalls, a cowboy hat, and cowboy boots while doing chores. But Jax learns there's more to life in Kentucky than just mugging in stylish farm gear — like being grilled by Brittany's family about his intentions for his longtime love.

"When are you getting married, son?" one of Brittany's relatives asks the bartender. Later, he tells her mama, "I want to get married and I want to get married soon."

However, Jax is unsure if he can call Kentucky home. "I can see myself getting bored really easily here," this fish out of water tells a friend on the phone.

And tensions start to rise during their time in Kentucky when Brittany puts her foot down. "You're an old man and you need to act your age," she tells him before the entire trip falls apart... and Brittany starts crying.

While Brittany is back in her element, Kentucky turns into a minefield for Jax as he contends with aggressive farm animals, awkward sleeping arrangements and endless marriage questions from her colorful family. From coyote hunting, to babysitting her nephews, and even going to church, Jax’s city slicker ways are continually challenged. However, after a few days in the quiet countryside, Jax’s patience and charm start to wear thin as Brittany’s friends and family, especially her skeptical father, start to question his commitment. Through their ups and downs, this unlikely couple will find out if their Los Angeles love can survive life on the farm.

Season five of “Vanderpump Rules” marked its highest-rated season yet, seeing season over season growth with 2.4 million total viewers and nearly 1.7 million P25-54, up +3% and +4% respectively from the prior season.

Meet the cast

Brittany Cartwright was born in Kentucky and spent her childhood on her family farm in the town of Winchester. Growing up as the daughter of a youth minister, Brittany was an active member of her local church. Throughout high school she participated in cheerleading and won several beauty pageants, before enrolling in Eastern Kentucky University to continue cheering and study nursing. Brittany was working at a Cincinnati Hooters when a trip to Las Vegas led to a chance meeting with Jax Taylor. Romance ensued, and within weeks Brittany had packed her life into the trunk of her car and drove cross country to move in with Jax in Los Angeles. She loves her new California home, but she still misses the farm and speaks to her family back in Kentucky almost every day.

Although Jax Taylor is in the best relationship of his life, working with his girlfriend of one year, Brittany, at SUR in addition to living together is proving to be a challenge for the former playboy and gossip king. Jax must learn to live with a country tough Kentucky girl who won’t tolerate his mischief; and when Brittany’s conservative mother comes to town, Jax has no choice but to explain his sordid and reckless past to his potential future mother-in-law.
